Well first of all I can't stop anyone if I make it third and long they always seem to convert. Secondly I got behind early and abandoned my run game too soon which is my strength. I can't stop crossing patterns or anything underneath.
Mainly I just haven't played Madden in 5 to 7 years and I suck. this is the first time I've ever Played online. And I was never much good anyway. Hopefully I'll get better it's still fun
The guy played against was good too I don't to take anything from him

Yeah I'm CST. Game doesn't start until 7:30 so that's plenty of time if you're going to be around

I used to play NCAA a lot and Madden every GREAT once in a while (if a friend had it). So I wasn't very good either. I got into Madden last year because of NCAA being discontinued and I wasn't that great. Skills Trainer and Practice Mode made me a better Madden player.

Madden isn't as nooby as it looks. Offense is easier to comprehend, but defense you have to have a feel for the game. It's tough and on the surface, very basic, but you can get ate alive if you just do two man under or cover 0 blitzes all game.
Also, on like third and long, I like to tell my guys to play the outside and I'll user the LB over the middle if I'm running man. Idk just a tip. I'd suggest watching videos on how to use cover 3 and manipulating zone schemes. It's how I got 7 picks last week. My secondary is far from special. Once you understand that, try practice but be the lb or whoever your roamer is. It'll take you a good 20 games.
Quick edit, learn what routes to use vs man and what to do if you're reading zone.
