Thanks everyone. Still trying to wrap my head around it.

You'll be fine. Human instinct takes over and you'll do anything possible to make sure he/she is well taken care of. Hope all goes well! Keep us updated.

That's the truth. I was convinced I would be useless during delivery since I have a weak stomach for blood and whatnot. But you totally forget all of that in the moment. Dealt with some crazy looking stuff that day, but it didn't matter.

That was another thing I was convinced I wouldn't be able to do, but as soon as he came out, doc was like "get over here", and I went over and "scissored" through it. I was warned that it was tough and wouldn't just cut through in one try, and that was the truth.

And I mean I used surgical scissors. No gnawing

My little boy freaked the doctor and my wife out because he came out just chill, looking around the room. They brought him over to the table to clean him up and get him oxygen and he just kept surveying the room (not like he could see much). But since they usually wait for the baby to start crying to determine if they are ok, and since they couldn't see him, there were some nervous looks on their faces. "Is he fine?" "Yeah, he's as calm as anything."

It was actually kind of scary because his heart rate kept dropping every time my wife pushed, and we'd have to take these long breaks in between just to get his BPM back up. We were one push away from a c-section. So another reason they were concerned by his silence. I guess they grade the baby's condition when they come out, and we found out on his 2 month checkup that he graded pretty poorly. Glad they didn't tell us.

That is a scary thing. My little girl, who was 10lbs, 3 ozs at birth, got stuck. The Dr hit the nurses button and yelled "I need more people in here now!". They had people pulling my wife's legs apart and two pushing on her belly. I didn't pass out, which was an accomplishment, but everything turned out fine.

I would have lost my mind there

It was actually kind of eerie. The doctor and the nurses were really calm about it, but no one would talk for like 10 or 15 minute blocks. Just everyone listening, waiting for those beeps to speed back up. I just kept praying the entire time.

We were either 2 or 3 weeks early, depending on conception. They gave us a 4 or 5 day window on that. Technically preemie, but not nearly the same problems other than jaundice.

42 weeks with my girl. Which is why she was 10lbs. Hindsight says that was a bad decision on the Dr.'s part. That is why my wife switched.

The twins went 37 weeks (they wouldn't allow us to go any further as they were both pushing 7 lbs).

This last one went 39. (he was 9lbs) The last two pregnancies were caesarian.

ETA: That dog is hilarious.
