I'm not going to tell you that you're going to overspend your budget, but if I'm being honest I wish we would have made our house a little bigger. As it stands, we have a bigger house than our old one and are only paying $75/month more than our last note.

we went pretty big. Compared to our last, we are almost 1000sqft bigger

2147 living. All rooms are at least 12'x12' with the Gaming room 12'x16'

I don't plan to upgrade or buy the nicest for much. Outside of crown moulding, i can go with standard shite

That's a smidge bigger than our house. One thing I had to have was an open kitchen/den. And I wanted all that visible flooring to be hardwood.

we have that. living room, kitchen and den are all open. We will have the laminant wood floors in all bedrooms, everything else will be tile. I can go with real wood floors, but i heard they scratch easier or some shite.

Cabinets are expensive

Meh, scratched hardwood floors add character. Our floors were the cheapest hardwood that weren't laminate. After a few months, no scratches yet. And CMurda likes to drop lots of things.

We've got real wood floors, and unless you gouge shite into them, they don't scratch.

maybe it wasn't that they scratch easily, i can't quite recall what it was. They listed the pro's and cons of both, so i may be mixing them up

My bro's FIL owns A&R flooring in Thibodaux, so he'll be doing the job. I'll go on whatever he recommends

Then it sounds like you could get a deal on hardwood. Depends on your taste, but I didn't want tile anywhere but bathrooms.

5-6 months

if i go with laminant, it's $1000 cheaper or so. He definitely gave me a deal even with using real wood. He'll use material that may have a chipped edge or some other slight defect and manipulate it to where he gets rid of the defect or to where you can't see it without it being pointed out.

ETA: He's also doing the backsplash in the kitchen along with the shower in the master bath. And the fireplace. With adding all that to the original cost, he still beat the cost from my builder

Agreed. I wonder how the rest of the album sounds. If it's similar, it could be one of their best to date.
