When I was there I carried a very large knife on my ankle at all times, we literally slept twenty feet away from the wire and you never know what kind of situation you find your self in
I also carried a 9mm along with the m16 and I've heard since that most units don't allow people to carry two weapons anymore nor any other personal defense weapon
