Mother fricker. I just bought Detroit during the Days of Play.

That makes 3 of us.

Downloaded Detroit:BH on Saturday. Was able to finish it up my first run last night. I think that it was a pretty interesting game and it kept me interested with the storylines. I have been wanting to play more story based games with no DLC and this definitely scratched that itch.

PROS: Characters were decent. I enjoyed the arc of Conner most. I like the storyline and how each decision can affect the gameplay or story. Getting a character killed at the end like I did because I thought I chose the correct option was heartbreaking for me.

CONS: I didn't really enjoy the android gameplay towards the end because it felt a bit heavy handed sometimes. I kind of rushed through those and will probably choose a different route next time. I also wish that the flowchart wouldn't show me things I had missed or option trees after I had made a decision. I'm not sure how I would replace that, but I felt like I would search an entire area, only to find out that I missed something in the beginning that had a lot more choices after it.

Overall I give the game a 8/10. The choice system gave me enough options that I had to pause every now and again to make sure that's what I wanted to do. I did feel like sometimes the game puts you in between a rock and a hard place with choices. I think when you choose an option expecting a certain reaction and the characters react in a totally opposite way, it makes for a frustrating few scenes especially if you are trying to cultivate a certain relationship between characters. In line with other reviews, Conner was definitely the best character and his choices were big ones and it makes you hesitate sometimes and really try to make the right choice.

I didn’t realize that it came with the download.

I’ve got it downloading and will start it tomorrow maybe.
