Same for the RE3 remake

Was 3make a bad game? No, it had some good ideas. Was it a colossal letdown? Most certainly

Insanely short, tons of cut content, overly streamlined, 90% scripted Nemesis

Demo made it seem like it’d be a lot better than it was

Code Veronica sorta got left behind by history, but it's a solid game and the last game with the old school "classic" formula.

It's also worth remembering that Code Veronica is actually the "true" RE3

Code Veronica and Nemesis were both in development at the same time, CV being titled RE3.

The Dreamcast was coming out and Sega negotiated getting CV as an exclusive for the Dreamcast.

However Capcom already had a pre-existing exclusivity agreement with Playstation, but only for mainline RE games. So Capcom just removed the RE3 label from CV and slapped in on Nemesis.

I lean toward RE2R. Mr X is so badass. And the underground part is really fun. Just hearing his footsteps walking around, as you're out of bullets is terrifying. I also really enjoy RE7.

RE7 is great, I was worried when it was announced as first person but it really felt like an old school RE game, was a great return to the series roots after the idiocy of 6.

It does run out of steam towards the end, the Lucas, Tanker, and salt mines sections were "blah" but everything in and around the house with Jack is as high quality as anything RE has ever done. Atmosphere and tension level superb.

What's weird is that despite everyone cheering the return to form for RE7 they immediately regressed with RE8. They said they intentionally made it less scary as some people found RE7 too scary. I mean, what the hell type of criticism is that of a horror game. That's like saying you found a comedy too funny. Ridiculous. And the last act of that game fighting a gigantic robot monster tank and then call of duty werewolvs, very bizarre tonally. I liked RE8 well enough as it had a lot of great variety but they need to keep the series horror based and not go off the rails again

so true

first part of 8 was awesome. The Beneviento and Moreau sections are just such a slog on subsequent playthroughs though. 0 replayability

If the rumored second remake of resident evil 1 in the new OTS style for possibly 2026 is an actual thing, adding 0 as a prequel dlc and actually make it modern quality of life and not tedious could be awesome: it also would give them a chance to finally tie a coherent cannon version of the events of the mansion that’s not messy as hell.

Something like the quality level of seperate ways for RE4make. That’s was insanely high quality stuff. It’s very very good.

Truthfully though another remake of re1 isn’t that necessary. The GameCube version is incredibly good and holds up very well. Still, I’d enjoy the game with top of line modern graphics in the 3rd person style of the remakes:

I have to be honest, the first few times Leon and Helena tripped over zombie bodies, I kind of chuckled. But after playing a few chapters? God damn it's annoying. Lift up for your feet when you walk!!

RE7 VR is my favorite gaming experience of all time. It took me a while to get used to the motion sickness issue, but I was also a straight up coward and peaced the F out after 30 minutes the first night. Blamed it on motion sickness but I really didn't want to go down into the basement.

Horrifyingly immersive. It was worth the cost of the PSVR for me. I never could get over the motion sickness on faster paced games. Borderlands 2 made me ill but I did get over it fairly quickly in RE7 and I loved the actual game. Creepy family, creepy house, creepy score and inside the game with VR.

I liked it better than 4 but I only played 4 when the remake came out.

Regarding my post above about a second remake of re1 heavily rumored to be release in 2026 for the anniversary in the 3rd person OTS style and whats been said about it is it will have very few enemies with ones even far past the bullet sponge ones in 2 remake. Ive found the community at large is very polarized about this idea given the gamecube remake is amazing. I enjoy your opinions and am curious if this is something youd want? Be mad its made? Or just play it and be kind of meh bout it? Anyone else id love to hear opinions from them as well

Can’t wait to get on to 7. Turned 6 down to normal so I can just fly through it. Have to say Chris’ campaign is a lot better than Leon’s.

What’s funny is Chris was the one drinking but it was Leon who tripped over everything.

I would be pumped if this came to fruition. With these modern Capcom games, you can always expect a polished and well-designed experience. Even the worst of their recent games, RE3make, was a really good time.

I think your idea of a 6-8hr DLC covering the events of 0 in the style of Separate Ways would amazing.

Yup I’m of the same mind. Would absolutely love to see it. It’s also supposed to be the first game to debut their new REX engine which is an upgraded version of the already amazing RE engine.

Just finished RE6 tonight. God damn the amount of QTEs was annoying AF.

I liked the individual stories and enjoyed how they wove together, but the gameplay was such a slog at points (aside from the exessive amount of QTEs, the vehicle sections were also pretty awful).

Looking forward to starting RE7 after I check out SH2.

1. I know most people think RE 4 is the GOAT RE game, but what are your other favorites? I really liked Revelations 1 and so far I'm really enjoying the Leon campaign in RE 6.

One and two are my favorites by a mile.

2. I'm typically not a fan of first-person games, so I'm a little concerned about RE 7 being first-person. How big of an adjustment is it going from third-person in all of these RE games to first-person?

Started RE7 last weekend and I'm on Chapter 3, I think?

My concerns about it being a first-person game were unfounded as I'm having a blast! The story so far is amazing (I can't believe the amount of shite that already happened in Chapter 1), and it makes me feel like I'm playing a video game version of House of 1000 Corpses.

There's a fixed camera mod for the PC version of RE2R that's actually pretty cool and makes it play like the OG.
