It's a discussion on a message board. Go figure.

You should work for IGN. They just had an article on snapchat talking about why Iceman being gay was the greatest thing to happen in the history of comic books.
Your virtue signaling arse would fit right in.

I know in your head being an SJW and not being an a-hole are the same thing, but stfu.

No I just think your solution for no one to say it is completely asinine. You can't uninvent a word, and this whole censorship movement has been and will always be about control and limiting the range of thought.

Sic is a censorship dictator.
Posted on 9/12/17 at 6:13 pm to Big_Slim
I'm not talking about censorship. It's about dropping the ideal of "well they do it, why can't we".
It's like any time you call out Trump for something, if his supporters can't really defend it, "well Obama/Hillary did it all the time", like that makes it right.

That better be a sanctioned message from John Henry Eden. Three Dog is fake news.

I recognize that but we live in a time of Internet lynch mobs which scares me infinitely more than a YouTube streamer dropping the n bomb. My professor told us a story of an engineer who lost his job for a slightly off color joke which is a product of said environment. I would never say nagger in a hateful context out of basic human decency and politeness, but this whole policing and outrage over language is just a mechanism of control.

I agree it's gotten out of control, but that word has been taboo forever, and despite what Fox might want to think, racism is still indeed a big issue.
My wife was telling me how back in high school she had planned on taking her dance partner at a studio she went to to some dance, who was black, and her grandmother pretty much told her "hell no", but she had no issue when she invited her Jewish friend. I worked with a guy, who was a church goer, and he said didn't believe people should date inter racially, like it was some theology he held to. I told him nowhere in the bible did it say that was wrong. Nowhere. And he genuinely was surprised by that. A lot of racism, especially in the south, isn't necessarily an intentional hateful thing but a product of upbringing. Again, doesn't make it right, but lots of people simply don't feel they're being racist.

But by the same token most people in the south aren't racist (at least aggressively) and are just sick and tired of hearing about race every single day. It literally pervades almost every discussion in America today from sports to church to the corporate world and people are just tired of being told they are shitty especially when we have much larger fish to fry to be a successful country and species. Live and let live, let the assholes be assholes and it will almost always work itself out without feeling the need to seek retribution against those who say things we dislike.

This shite is everywhere. People like to call out the south, but you can go around the world and find this type of thinking without much effort. Asians can be super hardcore about dating/marrying outside culture.

fricking bingo. Even some of the black ladies I work with have mentioned before they are against interracial relationships.

If this is the word that comes to your mind when you are angry you are racist. Pretty simple.

I'd refer you to watch the South Park episode with the bikers for pretty much the same thing
