Get one with video, no question about it. Not necessary to overspend on color video, though, because when it's dark it switches to infrared and is in black and white anyway, and 99% of your need for the monitor will be while your daughter sleeps.
Your general wireless choices are 900Mhz and 2.4GHz band. The drawback of 2.4 Ghz is the wifi interference, and the 900mhz band is like a radio. If there's physical interference (like you're standing at just the right angle between the camera and the monitor, you'll see and hear static.
My parents bought us an expensive setup:
$300 for that set. I liked that it was dual channel and allowed for a second camera. Except that by the time our son was born, Summer Infant stopped making this one and finding a compatible camera proved to be impossible. The color is useless as I said, and not nearly as vibrant looking as the picture shows of course. The essential features for me were:
1. The larger screen on the main monitor allowed us both to mount it somewhere practical and still see it from anywhere in the room.
2. Brightness adjustment on the fly. On its highest setting it will illuminate an entire room, so I was glad to be able to turn it down.
3. The battery-powered portable unit had a decent enough range that I could carry it outside with me to get the mail.
4. The ability to turn off the sound and just use video -- it has red light indicators to detect sound. If I'm up and working on something, I can keep the sound off and the video on, with the monitor on my desk. That way I don't get distracted by every little sound the baby makes while they sleep (and they make a lot of noise in their sleep). Other video monitors, while they allow you turn off the sound, will still vibrate loudly when it detects noise. That's even more distracting than the baby sound itself. This is the case with the secondary monitor we bought to put in our daughter's room:
However, that particular monitor is awesome for a toddler, because it has two-way communication... suddenly she hears the voice of god in her room: "It's not time to play with your baby doll. It's night-night time." It also supports additional cameras, has a temperature sensor on the camera, and some other useless shite I'm sure.
I liked that the summer infant monitor was 60Hz and had essentially zero delay. The Vtech is only 22 FPS and has about a half second delay. The Vtech (2.4ghz band) should have an even longer range than the 900mhz Summer Infant unit.

So until just now, I had failed to notice that the 5820K only supports 28 PCIe 3.0 lanes. Not that it matters unless you're wanting to run 4-way SLI, but still... sneaky Intel. Charging close to $200 premium for an extra 12 lanes. This is the first time they've made the top-end CPU desirable, though.

I'm concerned about the range because of where the room is but I'm also worried about it messing with the wireless.

Most of them are rated for at least 500 feet. The Vtech one is rated for 1,000 feet (I'm sure in the most ideal unobstructed conditions). I've never tested the range, but I might take a walk out to the mailbox with it to see.
Haven't observed any issues with it interfering with my other 2.4ghz wifi stuff, but I'm sure the interference is there to some degree. Just not enough to cause noticeable throughput issues.

Yeah, except for the fact that it vibrates if you turn the sound off, and the screen is too small to see any farther away than arm's length. It has a small delay (half a second at most) and only displays at 22 fps, but that's not really important.
Also, I bought it in March on Amazon and paid only $98.99. Not sure why the price went up. Shop around. I'm sure all of the ones in this price range are similar.

I'll put it on the registry and hope for the best
So there is no silent mode for it?
Also, I want 1080p and 60fps.

Which mem kit are you getting with the X99 setup? The 2800 Doms?
The stock specs on these DDR4 modules are just really bad (the latency). Any choice is a slight downgrade from both of our DDR3 kits.
But I remember the early DDR3 adopters got shitty 1066 sticks, so it'll get better.

Got a 212 Evo coming and a couple of better Corsair fans to replace the top one and add one more.

Pair of Corsair Air Series SP120's. Nothing crazy, this case only came with one fan as an exhaust up top and has room for two so replacing both to go with the 212 Evo.
Was just playing Skyrim on Ultra with 3 texture packs and a couple other mods and never went over 47°C.

Ah should have gone with the AF120s. The sp120s are made for radiators and coolers

They said case fans in the title on newegg idk.
Should be fine, just pushing out the top vent.

They can be used as case fans, but that's not what they're made for
Edit: the sp stands for static pressure and AF stands for air flow

Yeah, as long as they last and push better than the 1 shitty stock fan that's top now it's all good.
