Stout is the original td.com troll. Just wait for the classics board to open and you will see the thread where he claimed to have traced everyone's ip address from another site.

God damn this is still going ?
Posted on 5/11/14 at 3:27 pm to burgeman
He also spent a considerable amount of time in the TD Jail for the Deep Web thread which to this day remains one of the best threads ever on TD.

It was only like two weeks.

What is this that you speak of?

Whhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaa????????/ You didn't see that thread. It was from over a year ago and it was epic.
On a side note: What in the mother of frick has been going on in here? Tom, why are people hating on you again?

The OT. Unfortunately, I believe the thread was deleted.

Start at the bottom of page 796. Then things really ramp up on 797.
What's funny is he makes us out to be assholes, but he is literally the first non-troll we've ridiculed. Most people ask for part selection help, receive it, buy parts, come back again for build help, receive it, and all is well.
Honestly, the only issue I had with him was his snarky-arse replies trying to justify his RAM and motherboard purchases. I'm pretty calm until prodded in just the right way. (
It went beyond "I'm happy with these choices" and more into "I DO want these features despite the fact that you told me that these features exist on other motherboards and I don't understand the features I'm actually paying for and this ASUS, despite its inflated price, is not even as good of quality as some of the cheaper options." And the classic bit about the RAMdisk despite not knowing how they work (until the topic was even mentioned) and that ASUS's included ramdisk software is a selling gimmick and other companies include this simple, free software with even their $120 models.
He was arguing with me, and the things he argued were not a matter of opinion. I was correct. He was not.
While everyone else here might've made fun of him for it, I'd have much rathered him say "I like the ROG armor and the bling factor" and "I just want 32GB because e-peen brah." Because you can't really argue with that, assuming the rest of the build isn't being downgraded (it needed SLI badly though).

I've said multiple times I went with what I chose because I liked it. I even gave that response when you gave me your example about you looking to me for gun advice and I said if you want something that makes you happy then that's totally cool.
Again, where did I argue? Show me where I said you were wrong and I was right about something. The only things I've said pertained to either my choosing something for personal preference, or I asked questions about your responses based on stuff that I had read, which I clearly stated. Please, show me where I was arguing a point against you. Go ahead. How many freaking times did I say thanks or I appreciate your advice? Numerous times. But yeah, I was arguing with you the whole time.
You have no idea whether or not I knew how a RAMdisk worked before we discussed it. But keep pulling things out of your arse. It's easy to sound right when you can lie and not take facts into account.
How can a rig need SLI badly? And I even said I planned on eventually adding another GPU down the road, probably around the time when G-sync monitors start being released. So again, stop making shite up.
That depends on who you ask. Another question to consider is why have I been hating on several people in this thread.

My theory remains little man or little peen syndrome
I have seen it before and you show signs of it IMO

If I try to disprove your theory everyone will say that I'm either arguing again or proving your point.
You do happen to be wrong, but well played.

I know. You're also completely wrong, but I appreciate the insight.
Posted on 5/11/14 at 6:27 pm to Tom288
Don't listen to him. You and I both know that you have a HUGE cock.

Me:
quote:
Go ahead and explain to me everything you're going to gain from that motherboard.
You:
quote:
I like that it has on-board Wi-Fi including ac, 8 ch. HD audio, great BIOS, RAMdisk if I want it, CPU and GPU OC support, and it's extremely well-reviewed by pretty much everyone.
quote:
Yeah, I can use the extra RAM as a Ramdisk, quite conveniently too with the MOBO I picked out. My last rig had the "8gb sweet spot" and I'd routinely be using more than half of it. Hell, using Chrome alone can put a nice dent in your memory usage. Then you have Watch Dogs coming out with a recommended 8gb of memory, and 8gb+ for Ultra. This is just one game, but eventually they'll all start to require more memory and while 16gb would be plenty for a while, it certainly doesn't hurt anything to go ahead and get a full 32gb for a little over ~$100 more.
Me:
quote:
Pardon my bluntness, but everything in the above statement is precisely what I expected you to say about that motherboard, which is why I asked. Other than the onboard AC wireless (which is always at a premium), you named nothing unique. RAMdisks can be done "easily" with any software. It's software-based. 8 ch HD audio is standard. CPU OC support is on all Z87 boards, and the extra power phases will do nothing to increase the overclock potential of the haswell chips unless using extremely high-end watercooling and delidding, or using LN2. Haswells run hot, and even with delidding you would reach its thermal limits long before you exhausted even a $150 motherboard's power control limits.
You:
quote:
I did look up the MSI MOBOs someone mentioned, but I just like the extra features the Formula comes with.
Me:
quote:
No you don’t. For your intended use, you’re paying $150 for a mediocre wireless AC. It’s not a bad motherboard, but the price you’re paying for it is for bling, and features under the hood that you will never even understand, let alone use. But as long as money is not an object, go for it. I’d rather you say you want the bling factor rather than think this board is offering any usable features for you other than wireless AC (and you should be gaming on a wired connection anyway). If you find yourself wanting something else for your PC, and budget is becoming an issue, this motherboard is the SECOND thing I'd look at scrapping to save money. (the RAM being the incredibly obvious first thing).
You:
quote:
No, I DO like the extra stuff. Now, whether or not you want to say they're worth the price increase is another matter. I mentioned the AC wi-fi just because it could be useful, but I do use a wired connection. I also liked the onboard audio and the fact that it comes with a headphone amp.

Congratulations, not only did you not provide a single example of me arguing with you, much less asserting that you were wrong, but in every response I basically stated that I was getting X component because I simply liked it, which you're supposedly cool with.

Onboard mobo amp
My MPower (non-max) has one. I can speak from experience that they serve the purpose of being able to sort of drive headphones with 600 ohm resistance, but the limitations in Windows make them not loud enough. For high-end headphones, there's just no way around it. You have to get a dedicated external amp and DAC (the DAC to avoid double-amping and distorting the sound). I was not an audiophile when I learned this the hard way. All of my fancy onboard sound features are completely bypassed by a DAC/AMP, and those same features would've been completely useless on mid-range or lower headphones.
