gigabyte 670 is locked at 1.175v. Even with case fans on low temp barely touches 60C.

me too.
Thats a solid board and we know AM3+ still has a couple of upgraded chips left in its life cycle. Im tempted to just go get it but im also thinking to sit tight and see the prices come down after haswell and steamroller.
Well that and I'd have to find a new video card too, my 6850 would be bottlnecked like a bitch.

no point in getting the K line if you arent gonna OC it.
coyote said your g45 board is good for clocking, so as long as you put a good cooler on it you should get over 4.0 easily.

difference is the fan.
the evo fan is upgraded and moves the same air for less noise.
what case do you have? im pretty sure the only reason i can hear the plus is the side panel vent directly over the heat sink.
