Use your CGminer config to set clocks and voltage. Take all overclocking software out of the equation if at all possible.

When I got home last night we ended up running laps around out backyard

Running 24/7 will stress anything.
I want my gaming hardware to be ready to handle OCs when I game. Just remember when I used to fold, everything would be shot after. The CPUs and cards wouldn't handle stock clocks sometimes.

Sure, heat and voltage are the causes of degradation. I thought you were putting a block on it. Your pump and fans will exhaust their MTBF before that.
I have seen degradation with CPUs more so, since folding was more an overclocking competition that included voltage increases. Not recommended when mining.

The net hash rate increases daily, and so does the difficulty in order to maintain a consistent block time. Notice how AMD cards go out of stock so often. If we managed to double our hashrate, many many more people will have managed to do the same.
