I begged for a soundblaster so I could hear the voices in Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis.

I paid $400 for a 20 MEGABYTE hard drive and didn't know what I'd do with all the space.

Damn, I paid $8 for a key on ebay a while back.
See that tomb raider is $9.99. Pretty good game for those who haven't played it yet.

So is this the place to ask for someone to give me a list of everything I should have in a PC to run DayZ? I want it to run smooth and obviously be strong enough to run a capture card as well. I remember a while back a few of y'all said I could be a pretty powerful PC for around $400-$500. If you could provide links to the things I need it would be a bonus. However, I do know how to use Google so I can look stuff up myself. I just don't know anything I need outside of a motherboard, RAM, and HDD/SDD

The 2 Triple AAA titles I wrote off before even playing both became part of my favorite Q4 2012 / 2013 games.
Dishonored, love every minute.
Tomb Raider, story was fun even if very linear. The graphics and ole Lara's hair looked good.

If you're planning on streaming it a $400-$500 build isn't going to cut it. You don't need a capture card to stream either, unless you have a dedicated streaming machine.
A $400- $500 build could get you playing it, but that's about it.

My CPU alone was $600 and I still can't go full quality. Then again, you might not want insane quality.
Encoding is so CPU intensive.

I'm not breast feeding haha. That's the wife. Besides, i'm not going to run out and drop the money all at once. I'm going to slowly buy the parts over the course of about 3-4 months and then assemble it. Ideally, I would like a CPU that I could play DayZ on, capture my PS4/DayZ gameplay, and use for everyday interwebz activity.

You could do that on that budget then.

You know if you want to stay around $500, an 8320/660Ti might work. I'm making you a build right now which should hit around $550.
You would be able to game on high settings @ 1080 and stream with a decent quality feed, not the best but okay. The only big issue would be CPU heavy games, you might not be able to stream at any acceptable level.

I think at this point, I would only be interested in playing DayZ. It seems like a game that is fun/intense, but also slow enough to let entry level PC gamers in on the fun without being too overbearing with the controls.
