I'm also playing Blacklist, actually having an "okay" time with the game. It isn't the old Splinter Cell I remember but still fun.

This is a true HTPC/Steam Box APU every should buy into! They are saying 7750 dedicated GPU power in this iGPU! Wow, overclocked that could do wonders!

yeah, don't go by the performance test. I used it and it said mine was bad. I rock an almost constant 120fps.

Hey, for you folks who keep up with SFF hardware, I could use some help. My brother needs a dirt cheap build that will be used only for viewing video (not HD video, as this is for his home security system he self-installed. Uses IP cameras and whatnot). He's insisting on a custom-built desktop/mATX/ITX rather than something off-the-shelf because he's starting a business installing these cameras, and he wants these custom builds to be an add-on option.
I suggested just using a NAS for the IP cameras, so I'm not sure exactly what he would be using it for in a customer installation other than being able to view the video, if a customer for some odd reason doesn't have a computer.
So, my first crack at a cheap build is this:

Hard drive is interchangeable. He asked for a 1TB build, but I suggested he have options for larger capacity. He still isn't sure how large the video files are, but he said the cameras compress the video in real time. I think he's using the word "compress" incorrectly, but I'll need to research all that shite later.
Any suggestions for tweaking? I've only put together one APU system, for the in-laws, so I haven't had a lot of experience with their performance in day-to-day apps or even simple video playback.

Nas would be the best answer.
If he's planning on installing them for commercial use then won't they need lots of redundancy? What about any software that would wipe data after a certain amount of time?

This does not sound like a good idea for someone that doesn't deal with building and installing PCs as part of their job. Lots variables come along "custom built" PCs in a commercial environment. It could become a lot bigger of a hassle maintaining them and dealing with Warranties/RMAs, crashes, viruses, and driver issues. Before you know it, you're doing sys admin shite and not getting paid for it because the customer insists on not paying you because it's "under warranty".

Still unclear on whether he wants this just for himself or for others. If he wants it for customers, then I know he has it in his head that I'm going to build these shite-boxes for him and then have to provide support. Hell no. But I know he's using NAS, but maybe he's trying to offer an all-in-one computer/DVR, but that's just a computer with lots of storage. And who doesn't have a computer in their home these days?
If he makes this a legit business, he's going to need to hire a tech guy who can set up the routers/port forwarding too.
If anything, I need to build him something other than his 12-year-old compaq that he's been using at home.

The GPU choice will depend on how much performance is desired from games. Autocad doesn't depend on a specific GPU acceleration technology. 780 is a good price, though. The R9-290 is an even better price for similar performance from what I've seen.
Also, from what I've heard, especially with 3d rendering in autocad, that the more ram the better, so 32GB wouldn't be out of line unless you're just doing low-level basic modeling (I don't know a lot about the software).

Yeah, I believe that being able to allocate as much ram as possible to AutoCAD makes it a lot smoother of a process. With Sony Vegas Pro, I allocate as much ram as I can spare and it helps with the prerendering phases tremendously.
