I may try reddit out so I can sell my 955/sabertooth together for around $180. I may get a 2500k and mobo for $200.

I'm gonna bump this post now that the game is over.

I think I'm going to get myself an SSD and a webcam. Any suggestions? For the webcam, I've heard that my monitor may be difficult to mount certain ones since it has a slanted top. Model is the Asus VH238H.

Who r u cam2camming with

Also, what's your budget on an SSD? Although, I'm pretty damned biased about them, so for me my suggestion will solely depend on what size Samsung 840 you can afford.

No one. Just seems like a decent investment to complete my PC needs.

Well, my parents just spent $2,000 on a Macbook for my sister and so are giving that same amount to me, so my budget is basically unlimited.
Just don't go overboard with it.

Well then that's up to you. I could say get a 1TB 840 EVO but is that something you'd really use? So whatever amount you want to put in your budget for an SSD should go into a samsung 840 in my opinion.

I have a 250GB. My only complaint about it is that I can't store a lot of big map/open world games on my SSD at the same time because their file size can be massive. I'd like a 512, but more for a luxury.

I am assuming this is "back-to-school" money meant for that purpose, no spending it on non-academic video cards and 1440p monitors?

What's your suggestion? I would only need it I guess for windows, steam, and some games that I'll play a lot. 250 may be what I get unless you think I need more. Definitely not spending money on a 1TB.

I think 250 would be a "comfortable" level. I store office, adobe master collection, tons of other programs, and a handful of games.

mushkin enhanced chronos DELUXE
held the best SSD for the money on TH for that size for what feels like a decade

note: specifically the deluxe model

other options are a kingston hyperx or samsung 840 pro
