My friend is building a PC and didn't order an SSD at first but now he wants one. He found this one at Best Buy for $110. Should he buy it or get a different one? LINK

If he doesn't need one today then no.

Time to crossfire...but seriously the only game that I know if that really takes advantage of a fast HDD is DayZ. I was getting around 35-40 fps in DayZ and dips down in the 20s when I was in cities and towns. I created a RAMdisk and put just the DayZ folder on it(around 250mb) and now I'm getting 80-90 and 70+ in cities. I couldn't belief the improvement. I wouldn't recommend doing that with a full game unless you have a ton of ram.
Forgot to ask, what is a RAM disk?

Alright, any suggestions? He just ordered his parts over the weekend. How much of a hassle will it be if he builds his system and installs windows without the SSD first?

That's what he gets for not listening. How much of a hassle is it? Well, he basically will have to reinstall windows (or find a good program to clone the image), so he should just wait for the SSD and consider it a lesson.
Tell him to buy the one he was supposed to buy before.

Basically using part of your ram to hold applications, games, etc. Kind of like a small drive that is incredibly fast.

Need more voltage for anything higher.

how? you gained like 1000 points on your graphics score...you didn't turn off tessellation in CCC did you? I'm not saying you did because I know that 3dmark11 says shite about it on the results screen.

Told you.. I forgot to OC the NB last night, the communication has caught up with how fast my CPU wants to go.
EDIT:
Bruce, i'm about to install 12.4 drivers.. I believe those are the best drivers for synthentic benches no? Lets run that and try for 10500!!!!

That's right. Awesome. I wish I could find a modded bios so bad. I ran at 1170/1600 and it barely made it. I need more than 1.30v in the worst way.

Totally understand.. You should drop that Memory OC to 1400 and shoot for 1225 on the core. That card should be able to hit 1200 on the core easily @ 1.3V.
Just ran my 3rd test of the night, just scored 10292. This weekend we will help each other out some more, we can hit 10500 with these AMD rigs.. I just need more time to play with HT and CPU OCing. I can't get ANY OC on the HT to post and my CPU seems to die @ 5.0GHz no matter how much voltage I throw at it.
