Just got the email stating that mostly everything shipped! I'm still waiting on my optical drive and video card.

Need advice...

First off when I was looking in my bios last night I noticed my memory was down clocked to 1333MHz. This is the memory I have. It's 1.65v normally and for some reason, until I fixed it last night, my PC was down clocking it to 1.5v which would = 1333MHz.

I need 16GB of memory for Photoshop and Blender to do 3D rendering. I had 16GB but I split it up between two separate builds I recently did for my HTPC and nephew. It was some cheap value ram Kingston I didn't care for and I have had this PNY ram laying around for the past 6 months and just recently started using it again.

Would y'all just add another 8GB of that ram or should I find something else?

ETA: Now I see why it was down clocked

LINK

AMD originally claimed the 8350 would run native at 1866 but it looks like it is actually a native 1333 CPU.

Guess my bios still had it like I was running 4 slots.

If I need 16GB then I would be better off getting an 8GBx2 kit if I am reading that chart correctly?

What's the best way to install windows 7? You and I both know how I'll get the software...my laptop doesn't have a optical drive though. Am I screwed?

That is exactly what I did, there is another method on disk management but the option to set the flash drive as an active partition was greyed-out so I looked how to do it via cmd.

Should be roughly the same procedure for a Mac.

i used a virtual disk drive once. I was scared it wouldn't work but it did.

Eta: nvm. I still had windows on it. You're building from the ground up. Different situation.

BTW, if I had known you were ordering all of that stuff from Amazon I would have given you a link where Wounded Warriors would get a commission from your Amazon purchase.

I can call someone here because Wounded Warrior is right down the street. I didn't know that they were doing this, but I'll get it fixed ASAP.

Are these new ppl joining us?

Looks like more and more console scrubs entering the ring. Glad to see this though, it feels good to be elite.

No no... you can't fix it without cancelling the order or anything. It's no big deal. Just something I try to do when shopping.

In the future you can use this to shop for tons of charities LINK

is there much difference in the closed loop WC's other than the fans? in other words, if you have fans you are going to use anyways, does it make any sense to spend more on say a corsair vs a cooler master or other brand (for a similar product, of course).

Man, I don't know. I bought the H70 when it was on sale and Blue basically told me it was a PoS but it has been good for me so far.
