$300 after tax they're the current best deal out there if you want to stay/go 2K high refresh rate and get a high end panel.

Man I’m really eyeing one of these OLED 1440p 240hz monitors but I know I don’t really need it

But I want it pretty bad haha

Currently have two LG IPS monitors, 4k 144hz and 1440 144hz..all I really play is FPS games so getting up closer to 200fps in Halo and COD sounds appealing

I didn't last long looking at the OLED's, that same LG panel with just 250nit SDR and 250nit HDR brightness was a no go instantly.

Hopefully within another year or two the newer G3 panels will be available for monitors. As it is now they're like first Gen oled with how poor their brightness levels are and lack of HDR performance with well short of even HDR400.

Not what I was looking for.

damn not bad, i got an Acer Nitro 27" WQHD 2560 x 1440 / 1ms / 240hz on sale for like 300 about two months ago

I have two of the same monitors but with 144hz instead of 240hz on the sides and the 240hz is my main gaming monitor. I eventually wanna go balls deep and get a 4k monitor but thats way down the line.

Yeah I didn't want 4K at this time either but wanted great HDR performance so it was either QD MiniLED or OLED.

I can’t vouch for oled, but if you ever upgrade, you should definitely look into ultrawide… it’s a game changer and makes a huge impact for immersion.

Just got it mounted to the wall and booted up, holy shite the brightness difference.

Edge lit 5 year old Samsung Odyssey QHD is of course no contest. Wild difference for what was still a good panel years ago. First time seeing QD MiniLED in person too.

Time to test the response in CS2 and get calibration locked in. I doubt 144Hz -> 180Hz will feel any different.

It's been about a decade since I built a pc. I'm pretty much looking for something pre-built in the 2k-2.5k range.

Any suggestions?

I dont play anything competitively, just looking for a nice upgrade so I can play things modern fps games like Cyberpunk without having to downgrade much in the graphics department. Also may go with an ultra wide monitor.

Is building an option at all? Or do you have anyone you can throw $100 or something at to do it for you? Pre-build are notoriously bad about skimping on essential parts like mobo and PSU.

My last two builds I bought everything and found someone local to do the actual build for me. Worked out great both times.

Undervolting was extremely useful with the RTX 30 series. My 3080 is tuned within an inch of its life. With that said, I haven’t heard much use out of UV the 4090. The coolers are generally over engineered for the amount of heat. Most are better off with a tuned OC instead of an UV.

With that said, yes, it’s very easy. Benny, want to give him a tutorial?

~$2400 + $100 to pay someone to build for you

If you want to save more money you can skimp on a cheaper mobo, a 7900xtx, or case. But I think that build I sent will be the best combo of aesthetics and performance you can get for that budget.

Thanks. One reason I was going to skip putting it together myself was because every single time I've done it in the past, at least one component was defective and I had to wait until I got a new one. Very disheartening, so I wanted to just skip that step. Still, the tough part for me currently is actually picking out the pieces so that's a big help.

Either I’m really lucky or you’re really unlucky, because of all of the times I’ve bought Pc parts nothing has ever been defective. The only thing I’ve seen is a friend buy bad ram. And if you pay a PC shop to build it, they’ll diagnose exactly what’s wrong with parts for you if it does end up happening, so no hair pulling trying to diagnose the issue yourself.

That's a pretty slick build. If you are going to do this yourself, don't forget fans. I doesn't look like that NV5 comes with any. Get some decent fans. That will add a bit of a cost.

The parts list I included comes with a 5 pack of Arctic PWM fans

The build has no rgb other than a built in led strip on the case, but blackout builds look really nice.
