What programs are y'all using these days for benchmarks and GPU/CPU controls?

I just did this benchmark and wondering why vanilla Minecraft is giving me slight fits.

Probably need to configure the ram usage at the launcher. I had a similar issue when trying to play a while back

Bumped it up to 8 and the trees still drop me into the 40-50 range. Bonkers.

How much RAM do you have? Turn your render distance down?

16. I’ll goof around with the render settings.

Had the render maxed out

Adjusted it and I'm getting a steady 144

Why do cases suck so much nowadays?

Big news here looks like the AMD cards will be the first to support DisplayPort 2.0.

Yuge.

I mean, yay, but don’t think I would call it huge. I have to think the percentage of users who will need anything beyond DP 1.4 this Gen will be vanishingly small. But huzzah for those people, I guess

Well HDMI2.1 already isn't enough so I will stick with huge.

For what vanishingly small usage case? Three 4k monitors that need to push 60hz each?

That's, what, like 0.00001% of even the PC enthusiast population?

Lol you are way off base. Look up the specs you clearly are very confused if you think that's the usage. Samsung and LG both have 4K 240Hz monitors coming out this fall. Guess what those require? DP2.0. Want to run a pair of 4K high refresh monitors? Need DP2.0.

Let me see if Nvidia is going to have it so you can suck it off one sec.

ETA: Looks like only Intel and AMD have confirmed/leaked DP2.0, would assume Nvidia as well they are all instantly moving to it.

Finally pulled the trigger on some more monitors. I've been down to one since I moved back in November (wife got my 1440p monitor and I took my ultrawide to work). Too good of a deal on eBay for some 4k HP displays. Will feel nice to be back to a triple display setup.

Are these 4K high refresh or 60Hz? You'll need DP2.0 to run them natively if high refresh. DP1.4 and HDMI2.1 can't do multiple 4K at high refresh rates without compression/8bit/no HDR and I believe at best 2:2:2 subsampling.

Just 60hz. Absolutely no need to get high refresh for my side monitors. Hell, I only paid $135 for each of them

How many people are running 4k 240hz?

And I know you have this thing with creating a fiction that I hate AMD (in spite of my last two cpus being AMD) and am an Nvidia fanboy, but I just don’t like all of the over the top superlatives in the tech space. DP 2.0 is a good feature, just like PCIe Gen 5 is. Neither are a huge deal right now, and likely won’t be for another couple of generations.

But hey, maybe I’m wrong, and AMD’s next cards can actually push 4k at 240hz at medium to high settings. I doubt it, but I very much hope I’m pleasantly surprised

I used to run into issues running different refresh monitors. Eventually got a 1080p 144Hz to match the 144Hz of my main and it went away.

I've always had a single high refresh rate monitor with multiple 60hz and thankfully (knocking on wood) had any problems

No one dropping $1349 for the 42" C2?

Still too big IMO.
