Absolutely—I was clearly very bothered by it all.

I just posted the news all the tech sites posted of the record breaking stuff and 3.3GHz OC. The results they used were firestrike, firestrike extreme, and firestrike ultra.
Nothing against Nvidia, but they simply aren't at that level. They're not going to beat or top or come close to those records this Gen. We have simply never seen OC's to this level. First time we've ever even seen 3GHz much less 3.3GHz.
If you like timespy more that's fine, but again the sites and all that reported on it used the 3 firestrike scores.

They used the Firestrike scores because those were the runs that managed 3.3 clocks. If the 6900xt had managed 3.3 running Port Royal, they would have run that.

And to clarify, if your statement that Nvidia "simply aren't at that level" is in reference to the core clock: obviously. AMD has been been pushing significantly higher clocks across their product stack for generations. This isn't new.
But if your argument is that AMD cards are significantly better, or hell, even objectively better outside of very specific use cases, I disagree.

Wasn't really an argument, was just tech news that AMD has the most powerful GPU which we've known for awhile now they just keep pushing it with higher OC's breaking the previous records.
Not really about who is better or worse, just pure power epeen numbers for a record breaking GPU we've never seen the likes of before. Nvidia has no competitor at that level. And apparently won't next Gen either with RDNA3 retaining 3GHz+ OC's, early word is 3.5GHz max.

Looks like the 6950XT RDNA2 refresh card will be stealing all the records again here soon anyways. 2.5GHz reference stock clocks?! Good lord. 3TFLOPs of performance over the 6900XT.
The 3080ti's 2FPS advantage on their refresh will again lose to the AMD refresh.
Mid-April launch is around the timeline for the 5800X3D too, suppose one could go all in on an upgrade and grab a 5800X3D+6950XT and go ham. I just feel like that with refreshes, you're ~8 months from the next gen gpus and possibly ~6 for Zen 4 might as well just wait.

If the AMD Radeon RX 6950XT with a few optimizations on the RDNA 2 Refresh Navi 21 XTXH GPU can hit reference boost clocks of over 2.5 GHz, then we can expect custom models for the same chip to offer even higher boost clocks. The current custom variants are clocked around +250 to +300 MHz over the reference specs to if we use the same numbers, we can expect 2.8 or 2.9 GHz from the new model. This would prove to be a bigger performance uplift in combination with the 18 Gbps memory dies which are also rumored for the upcoming lineup. But it will come at the cost of higher power consumption.

Assuming the price isn’t absurd, I’ll be upgrading to the 5800x3d. I’m already on the AM4 platform, so just looking to drop in my last cpu and then ride that out for the next five years or so, upgrading gpu as I go.

The fact that people are currently paying €1,600 for a 2080ti just hurts my feelings

they're easier to get via bstock than any 30 series card on the market.
there's a drop every tuesday night seems like.

Ya if I was already on AM4 I'd prob upgrade just for fun too.

GPU prices are coming down and stock is really picking up. You can start to see some light at the end of the tunnel.
I get alerts for newegg/amazon drops like 5x a day now. 3070tis are in stock on Amazon several times throughout the day for $829 and $859.

Here’s to hoping prices stay at least somewhat elevated so I can flip my 3080fe when the next Gen comes out

Hi, i want to know that I have a HP Laptop with 16 GB Ram and 512 SSD but it still halts when I play Clash of clans on it using android emulator.
My brother is playing on his laptop but it works fine.

The amount of RAM you have and the size of your storage are probably the least important specs concerning a gaming experience at this point. Feel free to post your CPU and GPU (if the latter exists). With that said, emulators are notorious for not properly utilizing hardware, particularly GPUs. There are layers upon layers of troubleshooting that would need to be done, which I don't think any of us on here would be capable of walking you through unless someone else is used to running that particular emulator.
