Just put a bunch of cards on to eBay finally. Once they sell, I think I'm going to finally upgrade to these:

- Z390 motherboard, my poor 8700k is having no fun in that B365
- swap my ram out for faster ram (likely downgrading from 32gb to 16gb). I think my current is 2666mhz
- Get a 3070 or 3080
- Get that LG monitor UH was recommending

Why is your K on a locked mobo?

Please tell me you didn't use the included stock cooler on that 8700.

Stock cooler would be fine on that 8700k if he didn't overclock it.

I still love my 8700k. Such a great cpu

Not sure when it would be worth upgrading

Honestly, the 8700k, and 3600 (and 5600x) are the new 2500k.

You could keep them for 7-8 years and be fine IMO.

Same, I love mine. She's a beast that handles 5.2 all cores.

Only downside was the Intel security fixes that zapped about 10% of performance. My earlier benches were so much higher.

BTW what do you guys do with all of your unused PC parts?

I have the following that I don't use anymore (all working in great condition):

Asus Z170-A ATX motherboard (only issue with this is the shitty Intel driver SATA port issue with some HDDs with the Z170 chipset)
Intel Core i5-6500 (stock cooler included, there is an issue with the connector for the fan. It works but motherboards don't recognize that it is connected. I'm sure I could fix it, but I CBA)
Ryzen 5 3600
Sapphire Nitro R9 380 4 GB (W/Backplate version)
HyperX DDR4-2133 16 GB (2x 8 GB sticks)
NIB Fractal Design S Case (Window version)
Asus VG245H 24 inch 1080p Monitor w/freesync (40-75 Hz Freesync range through HDMI)

Mines delidded with liquid metal, she used to do 5.3 all core but doesn't care for it much anymore and I'm not trying.

Intel doesn't even bundle their cooler with the K processors though.

Nice. I'm going to have at least $1200 coming my way on Tuesday after 2 of my auctions end, so I think I'm going to try to get my hands on a 6800 XT or 3080

I’m just not sure I’m invested enough anymore to go higher. I just want 144+ on 1440p at moderate settings in warzone. Everything else seems to get that pretty easy.

Also I’m just not sure how much longer I can handle warzone with their horrible developers and laziness

Hate them all you want, epic kept Fortnite fresh for a long time
