Got my new 1660 TI installed. I think i fried a set of RAM in the process. I was getting a 55 code when trying to reboot after the install. Traced it back to being a RAM issue. I pulled 2 of the 4 sticks of RAM i had before getting it to clear. I'm thinking i must have static shocked the RAM.

Anyways, i'm still having one issue. I can't get my second monitor to display, i'm not getting a signal. Any idea what this could be?

You might have always had a shady RAM stick and the new board is ultra sensitive enough to expose it.

I've had issues like this forever with builds.

Have you targeted the stick giving issue?

Flip cables and see if it cable issue.

I've also came across this switching cards. No previous cable issue existed but for some reason it shows up. Was HDMI not DP but still a good trouble shooting step.

I didn't change MOBOs, literally just pulled one GPU and put the new one in. Booted up, then got the 55 code. It looks like I traced it back to 2 sticks of the 4 sticks i have. I just kept pulling a stick, then trying to reboot until it passed with no code. I even replaced the two i pulled to check it and when i put them back in the 55 code came back.

I'll try that. The one monitor that i can't get a display on is an older Acer, i had to get a DVI to HDMI cable for it.

I thought u upgraded everything. Sorry

Yeah that is weird.

Did you power down the PSU and denergize the board by pressing the power button?

Remember to always leave it plugged to the wall for a ground.

I don't think you fckked something up, but maybe.

Edt: I'm terrible at driving and reading.

This might have been my issue. I usually unplug everything, then hold down the power button to de-energize.

I got some new sticks coming into today. I'll get those plugged in and hopefully get the other monitor fixed up then I should be good to go.

I do think a CPU upgrade is needed soon, though. I didn't get a huge FPS increases with the new card. I am currently playing Escape From Tarkov though and i feel like that game is probably CPU heavy. I was getting around 30-40 FPS depending on the map, now i'm closer to the 50-60 FPS range. But, I am able to run the game on high settings.

Should I worry about OCing the new card? Or is it not worth it with my CPU bottleneck?

Sometimes you can short on boot.

Reflash a new bios if the new sticks don't work.

It's oddly easy to corrupt BIOS during boot.

Even VBIOS sometimes.

What do y'all think of this prebuilt?

I wouldn't normally tell someone to get a prebuilt but I couldn't even put the same things in PCpartspicker for less.

Zotac twin fan 2070 super
Ryzen 3600
AsROCK B450 Pro4
Team Group RAM 16GB
500 GB SSD (Said he has a HDD)
Probably a decent PSU (Upgrade later)
Wifi
Thermaltake case
$999

They aren't terrible.

Just watch out for shtty PSUs which whine (coil whine) and MOBOs which could create headaches.

I think today is the day I tackle my desk cable management too *putsguntohead*

Sorry Hu

Wasn't ignoring. I'm no longer balls deep into price points, esp mid-range stuff.

He got a prebuilt today anyway. Ryzen 2700, 2060 super Zotac I believe, AsRock mobo, team group RAM, and a bronze rated 650W PSU, didn’t check brand but I’m sure it’s decent as everything else looks legit for 850. Came with borderlands, outerworld, modern warfare, mouse and keyboard
