Leaked Intel roadmap shows its 10nm desktop CPUs won't arrive until 2022

quote:

When it comes to desktop chips, it appears Intel is keeping with the 14nm++ process for a while. The Comet Lake-S processors, which were recently reported to have up to 10 cores, will launch around the second quarter of 2020. After this comes Rocket Lake-S, which will also be based on the 14nm process, albeit a further refined one.

This suggests we won’t see a 10nm desktop Core CPU until 2022, which is when Intel is expected to release its Ocean Cove processor architecture, which follows 2021’s Golden Cove and 2020’s Willow Cove.

Like TDP, NM is an NM but how you measure is defined differently. So Samsung's 7nm, for example, is really 10nm from what industry experts. Basically, all these fabs are relatively close to each other in actuality.

But

2022

Holy fckk. It better be revolutionary. I'm taking this as good news. They are not just shrinking the node or redesigning to their 10nm to work with their fab process but a total redesign.

I don't mind waiting for 2yrs.

The SO didn't watch any Marvel movies. Made her watch Infinity War during the day yesterday for the first time.

It is different, in a good way. Infinity War and Endgame are 2 separate films. Not really a Part 1 and Part 2. Viewing it last night it reminded me of how polished the Witcher 3 and God of War are as games. Those are nearly perfect games and Endgame felt like a perfect movie, a masterpiece of storytelling craft, CGI and visuals.

Not my favorite movie ever but was blown away by just how good the film is put together. I couldn't believe they could tie up loose ends so well. After you get past the sad first hour the movie is a ride. The final battle is just... holy fckk. Damn it is good. I'm not an MCU fan really, never enjoyed them until Infinity War and Endgame. Can't wait until House of M. Scarlet Witch was always my favorite since the City of Heroes days in the early 2000s.

I plan to go see it again alone on Sunday while the SO is at work.

Edt: I never want to see Captain Marvel (Movie, character) again on screen. Larson sucks as a person and actress. Plus she is like the ultimate Mary Sue. Not Rey's Mary Sue power level but no doubt over 9000.

Alright, I may have to buy a new desk when the SO and I move into a new house. She hates the look of my current one (that I love), so I doubt it can stay around.

We both want something minimalist, but I need something sturdy enough to support 3, maybe 4, monitors and a desktop.

Basically what I want is a sturdy tabletop that's at least 60"+ and looks good

My L-desk is 72x44 and the smaller is 60x36.

I built all the furniture for our new house out of sinker Cypress but want something else for the new desk top. I'm going to make the desk. I want it on wheels and modular.

I have a damn problem. I can't stop ordering mice to try......

After playing with the finalmouse for awhile, I've noticed that I shift my hand around the mouse a lot and get out of position. I think the shape is a little small for my style and the lightness of the mouse shadowed that fact since it wasn't a burden to pick it up in weird positions.

I just ordered an EC1B and EC2B to try out.

I also ordered a Deathadder Elite.

Hopefully it will subside after I've tried these. Geez

Gonna be weird trying those mice with the weight I'm used to.

FWIW my hand is 20.5x10.25 (8"x4")

How old is your kid(s)? Mine are 5 and 7. We all sat down as a family Friday night and rewatched Infinity War and then I dragged them to movie tavern on Saturday.

I'm bringing this here because the M/TV board is useless right now.

Was the GOT S8E3 hard to view or just too dark for any of you?

Please list the type of viewing format.

I found no problem with it. Loved it actually. Nothing seemed to dark in any shot. Maybe because I actually fckk with settings? IDK.

HBO Now and Hulu looked fine.

I know. Wtf is wrong with the world.

One thing I hate the most are ppl who bitch about things they know nothing about without even trying to fix it. Maybe it was your issue kid, not the show.

Edt: worst episode ever though. The scenes with the dragons however, breathtaking.

Being a non-comformist used to be cool. It is so mainstream now.

Throwing away all my black hairdye.

Stop making it so black and white.

As a fan of ASOIAF and the world I could not be more disappointed. You are obviously just a surface TV viewer. It's fine but don't say we are melting when we have 100 reasons to melt.

I read all the books. I'm fine with how it's been handled.
