Yeah but try to make the trip worth something.
We planned on flying up for all the playoff games this past year. Simply because I thought it would be Ben's last year. But the SO wanted to go get a tumor which put her in the hospital for a week and 6week recovery. That bitch.
Edt: She had surgery the day after Christmas so that was also cool!

Yes, many years ago in the Igloo.
I may be in Pitt later this year for a Steelers game, I'll let you know.
How come you like the Cardinals over the Pirates?
Posted on 4/15/18 at 7:09 pm to Korin
Who would anyone enjoy the Pirates? Roberto has been dead for quite some time.
I love the Steelers and Stros' but from SE Louisiana. Loving Pitt is a family thing and Stros' by default since they are the closest to the NO area. Plus great up during the Bagwell era. We all loved to make fun of that wide stance.

Cardinals are on another level if you're from MO. Extremely big Redbirds family, my grandma has the bird on the bat on her tombstone.
I'm not a Steelers fan, just going to possibly be in Pitt and would like to catch a game. Me and my brother and nephew travel to a Raiders road game each year as kind of our thing we started. 2016 went to Raiders @ Titans, last year went to Oakland before we move for Giants @ Raiders, and next year we've tentatively chosen Raiders @ Cardinals.

So how come you don't like the Blues over the Penguins?
Posted on 4/15/18 at 9:48 pm to Korin
When I was little they were my brothers favorite team because he loved Mario, so I stayed with them. Blues aren't really very popular outside of STL and no one else in my entire family watches hockey at all.

Seems awfully bandwagon to be a Cardinals baseball/Pens hockey fan.

UH is the epitome of a bandwagon fanboy

It's whatever, I'm not a believer in the whole local fan thing. Doesn't bother me.
At least no ever questions the Raiders, we haven't had a bandwagon in about 15 years.

Although I believe UH is young, full of drugs and/or retarded. I do understand the non local fan thing.
I grew in a family who loved the Steelers. None of them from SE LA have ever been to Pittsburgh. I So with loving the Steelers I jumped onto the Pens with Mario as my hockey team. Now we are starting to make yearly trips to the area for games.

So my X79 sabertooth that I ordered off of ebay comes in today. The description said it had a boot device LED error, which seems like an easy clear cmos fix after doing some googling

Hope it doesn't bring headaches.
Motherboard issues are a pain. Only reason I went from X79 to X99 because I couldn't troubleshoot random Mobo issues. They stopped selling them new and eBay didn't have any I would want listed.
I would still be on X79 if it wasn't for that issue. Made no difference in game play for the most part.
Fyi kids never listen to UH on CPU performance and how much it affects gameplay. It was huge at one point but basically just have 4cores and around 4.0GHz. UH is an idoit.

I would probably rock a 3960x if I didnt have my 5960x. I just needed an x79 board for my server, and this was a cheap alternative.

Yeah but damn power hungry. The heat would also be annoying. This is the reason I run all my 24/7 stuff on lower powered gear.
I recommend getting an Intel NUC if it comes with a RealTek one.
Edt: Get a dual and use one for Tx and other for Rx.
No collision.

I'm turning my spare bedroom closet into a server closet.
Got one of these for $25
It's going to house this build right now with a 48 port POE gig switch, and sometime in the next few weeks I'm going to get two Dell R710s and Ubiquiti AP AC PRO (Or AC Lite). One R710 will be a FreeNas box and PfSense router, and the other will be a dedicated Game server for minecraft, rust, etc.
I want to jump deeper into ESXI, so these will be a good start
Edit: I also need to find a decent UPS for it, but that'll be later down the road too

This is awesome. I'm not IT but design solutions. Once you have a working knowledge it is easier to get what you want from the IT department because you are asking the right questions.
What is your profession? Still in school?
I started with an industrial construction company just because I knew VBA and SQL. It has taken me many places. Was a great foundation for me being a "software jockey". It is good to have those skills and knowledge no matter what field you venture into. It helped me bridge the gap between not being an engineer but supporting a project in every phase.
I'm much more interested in networking and security tech than anything else. It is deep, ever changing and useful. Homelabs are a must as a hobbiest/enthusiast.

If you are not buying used. SAMs oddly had the best prices.

Lol he is the IT department.

He is? IDK what Blue does for a living.
I just know he has been in school the past few years. Have no clue.
That is good though. Homelabs are still needed to learn.
