Or Intel, Raja is developing a desktop GPU for Intel to compete with both. Will it be worth a shite? Who knows with his track record, but he does have a much larger R&D budget so maybe.

I really hope AMD develops a GPU that beats the 2080 at launch. I want a high res, high refresh monitor, but it has to have freesync or gsync

Sort of.. they won't be competing on the top end. Which sucks because that is where they have no competition.

They will, 1yr later.
Edt: Probably 2yrs.

Vega 56 was intriguing given the initial $399 tag and the ability to flash to Vega 64 BIOS.
But mining and the lack of a competitor to the 1080ti really screwed Vega in general.
EDIT: Then Nvidia dropped the 1070ti, and that was that.
BTW, anyone seen the Nvidia GPP stuff released lately? Total BS if GPU makers have to completely rebrand their lineups just to comply with that.

Yeah. But no where near the top offerings from nVidia. Also 2yrs behind.
Vega wasn't that great of a launch. Really disappointed post mordom.

And that's all AMDs own damn fault. How can they just concede that?
They have everything in place to beat out Nvidia, but they just won't do it

Because they care more about the CPU marketplace. Ryzen had something like 20-30% higher R&D budget than the GPU division.
Vega was a success because of it being the best mining card available so it still sold like hot cakes, and because of what it accomplished for the data center space where it made big waves.
So for AMD it was all good, if you wanted a super high end gaming card then it was only partially good.
I wouldn't trade my $399 Vega 56 flashed to 64 and top tier monitor for a different setup. But I put a lot more emphasis on monitors.

At 1080p

We all do, but most of us get video cards that will at least push the basics of our monitors

Yes and no. They shifted focus because AMD had been pushed out every market. Do you remember our conversations on this topic?

They lucked into that scenario. Vega didn't challenge nVidia in the less. Really disappointed, we need them challenged.

Well we put everything into the whole system.
What is the point of having just a top tier you without top tier monitor or top of the line monitor with mid tier gpu?
These things go hand in hand.

Only UH can care about having top of the line stuff

Bruh Vega 64 pushes 1440p perfectly, it's like 3-5% more powerful than a 1080.

Oh I was referencing your shitty basic 4K monitors, you've never had a legit high end monitor.

I need some advice. I have gaming pc with a 1080 card. I would like a good 4k monitor. What would be the best monitor to get under 700.00 ?

Lol I've own everything from gsyncs, 120hz, 1440 and 2160s.
My favorite are CrossOvers. 2x32" 2160s @ 75hz is just fine. All other moniotors come with that annoying anti-glare stuff. I rather pure glossy.
How have I not? You don't understand all of here have owned everything. Why we know.
Edt: You are a truly ignorant.

UH drives an old arse 350z and probably makes fun of people that drive a 3 series not realizing the irony in that they are both douches.
In short, why do you waste time arguing with him?

I feel sorry for him. Truely.

You literally made fun of someone in a console thread a few weeks ago for faux 4K with a PS4 Pro while you yourself have faux 4K.
You just talk a big game but have cheap arse monitors. I find it hilarious.
For the money you spend on everything else, to skimp out on monitors. Oof.
