Water cooling you can hit 4GHz on almost all of them. Air I see mostly 3.9 as a max for most.

My buddies 1700 is just on a solid air system and he runs at 3.97.

Anywho, went ahead and preordered the Samsung monitor.

Supposed naming scheme for Vega has leaked and AMD continues to love the letter X.

HDR? HDR! HDR?!?!!!!!!

We have talked about this before but HDR >>> 4K.

I know we don't have it in PCs much yet but that is a great price for any display with HDR. To buy into a TV with HDR its about $750+ entry level unless you want a really off brand.

Yeah I'm pretty pumped, $549 on Amazon versus $599 through Samsung.

About as fully loaded as it gets until there is a 4K version with all these features and still well priced.

Yep. This one.

27" Curved 1440p/144Hz QLED HDR VA panel and the first Freesync 2 monitor.

That Samsung monitor looks nice but I don't want a freesync monitor and the reviews on that one aren't very promising from what I have read.

Reddit thread on it and the many issues

I've read some pretty good reviews on it, and Freesync is a must I can't go back without adaptive sync it is just too important.

Part of the reviews I have read say the Freesync on it is utter shite

Freesync 2 driver isn't out yet so probably why, not supported until the driver is updated, as I said this is the first ever Freesync2 monitor to hit the market and it's quite a bit different from the OG Freesync in terms of AMD cracking down on spec regulations so it will end up being quite a bit better.

Freesync itself is amazing and why I won't go back after having it for so long.

Hope it works for you but I would have a hard time being an early adopter with the reported issues all around with that monitor and Freesync 2 at this point considering the price of it.

Did you see the 49" ultrawide Samsung has for $1500? 3840 X 1080 on 49". Has to look like complete shite up close.

Yeah no interest in UltraWide though.

Here is a great professional review of it

But yeah I enjoy being an early adopter, did so with original Freesync and it took about 2-3 months to square it away. No worries, well worth that trade off.

I have an ultrawide 34" LG 1440p. Great for work. Not a fan of gaming on it even though I do. Trying to find a nice gsync monitor for just gaming around 27" 1440p 144. Nothing out there that just "wows" me, though.

I wouldn't mind one for work, but yeah gaming I just wouldn't like it and it's especially bad for MOBAs that I play the most.

Gsync still has a limited selection, think I read it has 1/3rd the options of Freesync. There is still hope that Nvidia will one day enable Freesync in their drivers but who knows.

I've been stuck on this Acer 1440p/144Hz for awhile now and I just can't do a TN panel any longer so I jumped on the new Samsung.

Yeah the monitor situation in general just sucks.

No solution truly offers all the features i'm looking for which is disappointing. It has been this way for quite some time. Which is one reason I go cheap with Koreans.

I have an ASUS PB278Q sitting in a closet I need to sell or give to my nephew.

Might sell the LG and get something with gsync but the only things similar with gsync are ASUS ROG or Acer Predators and they all look like shite aesthetically.

I didn't mind my Korean 1440 until I upgraded, now I could never go back to less than 144Hz or adaptive sync.

Just not an area I ever tend to skimp on TV or monitor, so if I have to keep buying and upgrading new ones a few times a year so be it. Hell I made money selling my LG 4K 6 months later.
