I was thinking getting the Fractal Node 202, Define Nano S, or Silverstone RVZ02B case.
Little concerned about the thermals in the RVZ02B and the Node 202.
Let me know how your temps are.

Depending on what GPU you're running, they'll more than likely be fine. I actually have a spare rvz01 that I got from coyote, and he was saying the rvz01 hummed pretty bad unless you stood it up right

How are your cpu and gpu temps?

Would be better if I would put an Nvidia card in it but it doesn't overheat or anything.

Would it be worth it for me to jump from my i5 2400 to the i7 2600? What kind of FPS jump would I see?
I want to make the jump, but I'd be too lazy to tear apart that tiny little build.

All depends on what you're playing; you know most games just want a few fast cores, and others lately are using even more. Best thing to do is check i5 vs. i7 benches for various games. Every game always has at least a youtuber or benchmark site doing a comparison.

Jesus! How much does that beast weigh?

That's not bad. Same as my old gaming laptop with the 17" 1600x900 TN panel and Radeon HD 5870M. You only start to notice the weight when it becomes too obsolete to be a gaming PC but you're still lugging it around as a work laptop.

That desktop 1080 will last a good while at 1080p at least?
Posted on 10/18/16 at 2:10 pm to bluebarracuda
Yep, that's the great thing about big leaps in heat/power efficiency. Now I haven't looked too much into the final shipping specs of the laptop 1080s, but I imagine there are still some thermal/power constraints that will keep them slightly underclocked (or very much "stock" with no wiggle room compared to desktop AIBs' specs), but still...Not too long ago, you'd be lucky if the very best laptop GPU of any given moment was on par with a lower mid-range desktop card.

Should I?
Like I said, I want one for my office and $2K isn't bad but Last Action Hero isn't my first choice. There is a South Park machine for $4K in Mobile, AL.

I would wait and find the machine you want. With an investment like that, get something you really want instead of finding the first thing that pops up
Posted on 10/18/16 at 7:41 pm to bluebarracuda
Yea I agree. I would like something I am fan of like South Park, Back to the Future, Batman, etc

TFW you almost finish building a PC and you forget you don't have an extra SATA cable
And it's right at the time best buy is closed, which is the only place that sells them

Been there, done that. Had a Toshiba Qosmio with an 18.5" screen and GTX360M in it that I bought back in early 2011 that weighs more than this new laptop does. It finally shite the bed on me earlier this year. It ended up only being used on MMO's and work for the last several years.

About a 10% difference in the laptop and desktop versions. The laptop 1080 and 1060 are identical to their desktop counterparts other than base clock. If the laptop cooling can handle it, the laptop cards are beating the desktop cards in some scenarios, especially the 1070. The laptop 1070 card has more cuda cores than the desktop although it is clocked slower, but can beat the desktop version easily if able to overclock it in the laptop.
