I think sapphire locks them like that on purpose so you will use trixx
Posted on 6/21/13 at 11:43 pm to Mr Gardoki
yeah, that's what I figured. It's pretty ridiculous and petty on their part but whatever. It works and I actually do like the fan control set up on Trixx better than I do on afterburner though.

The only thing I really like on afterburner more is temp monitoring you can do in the corner of the screen. Other than that they work pretty much the same.
Posted on 6/21/13 at 11:46 pm to Mr Gardoki
So I guess I'll have to learn how to use this Trixx thing since the card I'm getting is a Sapphire?

Only if you want to change the voltage
Posted on 6/21/13 at 11:48 pm to tehchampion140
yeah, it's not hard to use at all. Just remember, download all you drivers from the AMD site and software from the Sapphire site. Throw the disk that you get in the garbage because it's been outdated for months.
Posted on 6/21/13 at 11:48 pm to Mr Gardoki
What are the advantages of doing so?
Thanks.![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconcheers.gif)

Does that mean better performance? You'll have to treat me like I'm an idiot because that's basically what I am when it comes to PC gaming as of now. ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)

I'm sure I'll learn a lot once I actually have my first system built.
Posted on 6/21/13 at 11:56 pm to tehchampion140
hahah yeah, you will. Do like I did. Hit up youtube and Overclock.net and (god forbid) toms hardware and just research and more research and absorb.

Buy a TFIII or IV then call it a day!
WTF is everyone playing right now? I'm sort of hooked on Witcher 2 atm.

Absolutely. Be warned, you will gain an uncontrollable addiction once you complete your first build. You will be looking at all these extra components you didn't even know existed to further the performance of your gaming PC. Then you'll start putting builds together for the fun of it.
Building and owning your own gaming PC is hella fun.

And expensive as frick... I didn't need this new card. I have a 660... I think a meth addiction would be cheaper and at least I might see the sun sometimes
