I don't think so on a budget card, but some people might.

Ended up getting the Fury, hopefully it holds it's own down the line vs the 480rx.

My point.

If anything it helps lower prices on all nVidia cards. They have stated years ago that some premium is put on for Game Ready Driver Support. Years ago this was a really huge deal, especially when AMD took months sometimes to release a game driver.

Glad they did it. Let them spend more resources on SLi scaling.

480RX is a midrange card. Think you are fine.

Trust me, this isn't the only reason Valve can suck my dick, and of course I still use Steam. I just wish that they would actually give a shite is all.

A Fury for $275 is insanely worth the price for performance.

I believe they do care. Just that platform is huge with limited employees. The issue is they do not respond or release statements about everything which is distasteful. Their silence hurts them sometimes.

Thanks, the 4gb's are the only thing worrying me but it was just too good of a deal to pass up. And it's Sapphire I hear they are basically the EVGA of AMD.

The issue from a year ago where everyone could log into any persons account they wanted was a total clusterfrick, and I'm pretty sure Valve has never commented on it. TB was all up in arms about it if I remember correctly.

Now excuse me while I launch all my games on steam. frick.

You might be better off with 4GB of HBM than 8GB of GDDR5.

Sapphire has improved. They are the EVGA of AMD in terms of just making cards for one chip maker but in terms of quality, EVGA IMO tops them. If I would have to rank it would be EVGA, MSI, ASUS, Gigabyte, Sapphire. Something in that order but honestly the quality by each company has improved so much that its hard to tell them apart.

Edt: For the longest I wouldn't purchase a AMD card if it wasn't MSI, ASUS or Sapphire. Powercolor has come a long way too.

When I was mining, I bought a 280x by HIS and was pretty impressed by that one too. My 980s are Zotac, but they're reference cards. And I flashed an EVGA vbios to them.

Shtt I still have some HIS cards come to think of it.

Edt: Zotac might be the only brand I've never owned.

Maybe BFG also..

Do you remember this?

I went from the 280 to 560 Ti back in day for a few months.

Great card IMO. What 484 CUDA Cores with GDDR5!

The new Seagate drives actually look kind of interesting.

LINK

quote:

Faster load times for non-stop performance and play. Performs up to 5x faster than 7200 RPM desktop hard drives. Up to 2TB of capacity to store 80x 25GB games. Boots Windows in less than 10 seconds. Improves overall system responsiveness by 30% or more. Backed by a 5-year limited warranty.

Would like to see how these compare to a hybrid drive.

Would like 3x10TBs for my NAS.

Edt: for those running a ZFS NAS. Bit rot is real. Get yourself some ECC memory and make the best of the ZFS file system. We recently had some photos from 2013 which would not open due to what I think is bit rot.

lol, 7 platters though. I'd need three in RAID 1 to feel comfortable with that.

So I plan grabbing the microcenter fx 8320e and a Mobo combo for $139. Is that a pretty good deal these days?

For now I plan on running that with 16gb of ram, 128gb SSD, and a r7 250 that I had lying around. I'm looking to play overwatch on medium-ish at 1080p for now until I beef the video card up to something like a 290

Lol

Exactly what I will be doing. Well RAID 10 but 1 and 10 are nearly the same thing.

I wouldn't dear be doing that with just 1 backup and any amount of paridy.

Edt: I run basically ZFS version of RAID 10 on my FreeNAS build.

If you like overclocking, the 8320e doesnt eat up wattage like the other non E version 8 core FX CPU's. You can get into the 4-4.5 range without it becoming a massive power hog.
