The TaihuLight is comprised of some 41,000 chips, each with 260 processor cores. This makes for a total of 10.65 million cores, compared to the 560,000 cores in America's top machine. In terms of memory, it's relatively light on its feet, with just 1.3 petabytes used for the entire machine. (By comparison, the much less powerful 10-petaflop K supercomputer uses 1.4 petabytes of RAM.) This means it's unusually energy efficient, drawing just 15.3 megawatts of power — less than the 17.8 megawatts used by the 33-petaflop Tianhe-2.

Storage speed is one of those things I just don't care about. As long as its on an SSD, any SSD, im good.

Oh for sure, I mean I love my 950 Pro and paid a lot for it, but that was as much for the tech advancement than anything else. Was so cool holding one and seeing how damn small yet fast that little guy is, amazing tech.

Dont get me wrong, I wouldn't say no to one
So long as im using the generally accepted "fast" standard thats in a good price range, then im happy with it. I always buy the cheapest SSD's I can get.

Screw NAND flash. I'm waiting for 3D XPoint.
Also, decided to bite the bullet and order my wife a Galaxy S7 tonight.

Usually within 6months you have old hardware.

Edge? They are awesome phones, just hate touch wiz.
Why does every site use the payment plan price when listing phones. This just is annoying. Do ppl not buy phones out right? Idk anyone personally who doesn't.

I always buy unlocked phones, but I have no interest in a flagship device. I usually buy a good budget phone like the Moto G. Usually around $200-250.

I usually buy flagship phone for the SO since her phone is the main way she accesses the internet.
For me I'm usually satisfied with mid-tier phones since the N5 but the N5X has been a disappointment recently with battery life and performance.

Love this little wireless extrenal drive. I travel a lot, in an airport several times a week sometimes. So pulling out wires gets annoying.
For anyone else in the similar situation. Check this out.

We almost certainly not getting a full Pascal chip but I doubt it. The same was said about GK110 before TITAN's release.
but this is cool..

Western Digital launched their My Passport Wireless nearly two years ago. It was a nifty device that could back up or offload SD cards without the need for a laptop, making it ideal for photographers in the field. I came away from that review wondering just how much more you could pack into a device like that, and today I get to find out:

GP100, the “Big Pascal” chip that was announced at GTC, will be coming to PCIe for enterprise and supercomputer customers in Q4 2016. Previously, it was only announced using NVIDIA's proprietary connection. In fact, they also gave themselves some lead time with their first-party DGX-1 system, which retails for $129,000 USD, although we expect that was more for yield reasons. Josh calculated that each GPU in that system is worth more than the full wafer that its die was manufactured on.

Yes, this is why I decided to get her a flagship instead of the OnePlus 3 or Nexus 6P. Honestly, she would've been happy with either, but the S7 has everything.
Got her the regular S7. She didn't like the Edge look and didn't think she'd use the edge functionality.
Ended up taking a risk by ordering the international version on Amazon with the Exynos. From what I can tell, the Exynos seems to perform better in most scenarios, including battery and memory management, but just has a bit weaker GPU (not a concern for her use. She plays sudoku, candy crush, word games, etc). It can also be rooted.

This is actually the first time I'm not using the upgrade discount since I'm not on a super-old plan anymore. But I guess advertising the monthly price is a way to make people forget they're buying a $700 device that they'll hate in 2 years. If I'd bought mine from AT&T, I'd have to pay retail ($700) plus tax. Got it on Amazon for $579, no tax, prime shipping.

Yeah because its really 2.5yrs but most think its 2. Usually 26-30months.

Even I'm conditioned to think two years because of how carriers used to do the contract cycles, but I had my iPhone 4s for 30-31 months before getting the nexus. I've passed the 18-month mark with my Nexus but I don't have any urge to upgrade. I'm not really envious of the phones that are out today. Like the Nexus 6P. Better camera and a fingerprint scanner, but no OIS or wireless charging. I might change my mind in the fall when the new Nexus line comes out, or maybe not. I don't feel the degradation that I usually felt with iPhones.

how long before the 960s and the like drop to below $100?
Posted on 6/21/16 at 1:12 pm to ILikeLSUToo
No wireless charging is bullshite.
I do need to upgrade the SOs phone in October, shes not happy with the camera. So the next Nexus flagship that is released she is ditching her Moto X Pure Edition.
Bet your wife will be pretty happy with the S7's camera.

I don't do cheap but this is funny.
The SO has basically demanded a ring after we have been together for 7yrs. I'm a huge Pokemon fan and she hates everything video game, comics and just not main stream (even though I try to explain it is main stream now).
Might throw this at her when proposing.
