I started with a mercenary but felt like I was constantly retreating. Most builds I looked at focused on just throwing out grenades, so I shifted to a witch build. The witch has been much more enjoyable, going to focus on a chaos damage build and curses.

Finally getting to end game, beat act 3 cruel tonight. Have been playing only sporadically because Christmas stuff keeping me busy.
I'm doing warrior/titan and am now really cooking in terms of damage. I absolutely destroy all the bosses quickly when those fights took me forever on normal. Gear and build finally just hit a tipping point in terms of power level, mobs are dying too fast to be a threat.
Everyone has been saying how hard endgame is even after nerfs so I'll see. I died 104 times in normal and a mere 3 times in cruel, so definitely need a difficulty ramp up again, I'm sure its coming, especially playing melee.

I started with a merc but wasn't feeling it. I moved to a lightning ranger which was a lot faster and better. Then I decided to play a infernal witch minion build. Took that all the way through act 3 cruel. So I have about 140 hours. I'm done until the full release. I don't want to burn out on the game before it is actually fully baked. I had a good time but I am not one of the folks who grinds endgame content for years after the campaign is done and i am not interested in replaying it yearly. I spent $60 and feel I got my money's worth.

When the game goes fully live I'm definitely playing solo self found. I play almost exclusively like that anyway but I like the idea of being able to trade if I want. Problem is trading trivializes getting upgrades. After a few weeks the gear in trading leagues is super saturated. You can get exceptionally good gear for very cheap. The high level mappers are churning out so much gear and currencies that even extremely good gear becomes vendor trash to them so they are just unloading it. It sorta makes the game too easy and takes away the joy of earning your own way.

I couldn't put it down. I've never did the maps in the past. I'm having fun with maps at the moment. My gear and resistance sucks so I've had a few one hit and dead but that is on me for crappy gear. I just didn't get enough currency to grind gear much in the campaign. Plus I didn't need it with the minion build. Other than making sure i had a spirit scepter and body.

Not a fan of the ascendancy. I hate the trap rooms and I hate the escape rooms. It took a tier 2 magic map to finally drop a cruel djinn coin. It took so long to get the drop I was over leveled and it was a piece of cake getting to the final boss then boom one shot dead. My resistances were really bad for that matchup.
I've finished tier 1 and 2 maps and i think I am done. 142 hours. I know most of you like the mouse an keyboard but I really enjoyed the controller. A little bit of a pain in the stash menus but nothing too severe. I prefer the controller for easier movement.

I have been playing this over the Holidays. I have a monk and mercenary in the 20s and a ranger, sorceress, and witch in the 10s. I need to pick one to stick with lol.

About sick of how absolutely tedious this game is.
Do the exact same mechanic for what feels like a half an hour during boss fights, only to get one shot at the very end when they have 1% hp left, because you're right on the edge of their hitbox.
Defeat a mini boss on a map, but get killed afterwards because of a lingering effect? Boss still dead, loot nowhere to be found afterwards.
Also, the constant having to redo the maps if you log off seems unnecessary. Why can't I complete a map with a character and use the checkpoint fast travel the next time I login?
I want to like this game, but it's gone beyond challenging to insanely annoying. It's taken most of the fun out of the game for me.
I don't know, maybe people like this and I'm the weird one.

I hear ya. Put 50 hours in, tried a few characters. It's going to be great when it's done but I don't want to burn out on annoying shite when it's not even a full release yet.

Playing Balbala at the moment with my sorc.
I don't know how anyone could possibly understand how to beat this boss without having to go look up an extensive guide.

Minion build makes her somewhat easy. The minions keep her busy and her ads which makes it a lot easier to beat her. I beat her with a ranger too but minions was much easier. Not sure how you beat her with the slow crossbow. That would be a pain in the a.

I actually stopped using my crossbow and was using the bow exclusively.
Can't remember the names, but the ability where you rain down lightning arrows and it will chain regular lightning bow shots.
With the bow attack speed and the chain, the Dps was pretty good.
I stopped at level 30 and started a sorc but I see some of these grenade centric builds I'm looking forward to trying.

With GGG back from their holiday break, I’m expecting a pretty long list of patch notes coming.
Hope they don’t nerf Herald of ice and thunder, but wouldn’t be surprised.

i started following him when he was just couple hundred subs on youtube. its been fun watching him blow up. ill admit i dont watch his stuff too much anymore but seems like a good dude.

I think the only thing that keeps him from exploding even bigger is that he is stuck in one game genre. I burned out on POE 10 years ago but I still watch a lot of his videos. His excitement over POE2 got me to come back temporarily to arpgs. I wish he would stream other genres more often. He has a good dry sense of humor and I like the Alaska stories.

Cliffs:
Endgame maps will now have more goodies in general
More maps with bosses
Atlas towers will have more variety (only had 1 type before, now have 5)
Improved strongboxes to be less annoying and more rewarding
Reduced visual clutter that prevented on ground effects from being seen
Atlas can zoom out much farther
Improved load times of opening atlas and world menus in general
League mechanic items are more abundant
Pinnacle Bosses you now get 6 attempts on instead of 1 (can't change your build in between attempts though)
Buffing a lot of low level unique items
Socketed items can be resocketted.
Various mob and boss balance updates (fixing cheap stuff like mobs attacking you from off screen)
Item filters now available on console
A lot of various other small bug fixes and usability improvements
Bigger changes to the overall meta and character power levels will be coming later, coinciding with a new league/economy for a "fresh" start and fresh data.
