All I can say is WOW. What an incredible experience. The ending made me emotional, I actually got choked up. From a puzzle platformer! That’s never happened to me before, most platformers don’t have such a compelling and rich story.
This is without a doubt the best puzzle platformer I’ve ever played. There is just so much to it with all the side quests, it looks amazing, the movement feels smooth and fluid. I just can’t say enough about it. If you like platformers give this one a try, it’s on Game Pass.

did you play the original?

Yeah a few years ago. I liked it but found it more frustrating than Wisps.

both really good, WoW is much more accessible though

Yeah the difficulty spike in Blind Forest with that first run level turned a lot of folks off. I remember thinking that was way too hard for so early in the game. Must have played that level 50 times before I beat it, maybe more.

I didn’t love the reliance on melee combat relative to Blind Forest, but it was an excellent game.

I’ve heard recommendations of this from Souls fans which is unexpected, but I guess one more game to keep me from going hollow until Elden Ring.
Also Carson have you beaten all the Sekiro gauntlets?

Played this and the first one last month, thanks to game pass. Both amazing games with beautiful narratives. My only complaint was all of the escape sequences in Will of the Wisps. I got tired of them near the end of the game.

I just watched a review about that and they were talking about how there’s no bonus for doing those quickly, because whatever’s chasing you always catches up no matter what. I didn’t like that part either.
No matter how quickly you do it the thing chasing you is always right behind you.

I hated the chase sequences. Hated them. And because you couldn’t get ahead, it became more memorization than skill, as you weren’t going to have time to figure out the next portion if it wasn’t completely obvious. So you died over and over until you figured out that portion and moved on to the next, rinse and repeat.

quote:Agreed, those sequences were pretty rough, especially when it wasn't obvious where exactly you were supposed to go. "Wait, I was supposed to triple jump off of an exploding orb, and whip to the hook off screen?"
