I think you should reread the entire post. It is possible they are basing their choices based on things other than simply credit history. That is my meaning.

They will pull your credit, which will affect your score, and make their decision. That's all there is to it.
You could've gotten the same 0% financing through Amazon for the PS4/One this generation. That is why I don't understand the big deal that MS is offering this.

Dunno. Ask all the PS fanbois. They're the ones making a big deal about it.

And with that post, you just exposed your own contrain argument/agenda. That didn't take long.

No idea what you're talking about. All I said is I'm jumping all over that (meaning All Access). People acted like that meant I couldn't afford to buy the console outright, so I explained why what I was doing actually makes financial sense (giving them really great financial advice in the process). I've never made an argument about Playstation vs XBox in this entire thread. Simply knowing who the PS fanbois are is not a PS v XBox argument.

Telling someone to get their credit pulled to purchase a $299 or $499 game console just for a game pass deal is terrible advice

Well that really depends on your situation, but that wasn't the advice I gave.

I'm not sure who the "fanbois" are. I just saw your misinformed posts about the Xbox financing and wanted to pick your brain.

Thanks. I'm not concerned.

Couldn't tell you. I assume it's based on credit. I should absolutely qualify, but I don't know what they're looking for.
Good luck.

Regardless of your situation it’s a waste on getting your credit pulled

Yes you did, basically saying why financing is a good idea. Which it isn’t
Then again you think the digital PS5 is a bargain console despite the same hardware as the other one.

Sure, but my credit is good enough that this doesn't matter. I can take a small hit for pulling a credit report. That's where the "depends on your situation" part comes in.

For $299 or $499

What terrible advice or a thing to do

It really isn't.

Granted I wouldn't finance an xbox, but you're acting like a credit pull is going to wreck someone's credit. It would barely be a blip on my credit score. What si a credit pull? Like 10 points at most?
Posted on 9/21/20 at 4:19 pm to BottomlandBrew
It’s not gonna wreck it but if a person is having to finance a PS5 or Xbox they are probably going to do that for a lot more things and are living well beyond their means.
At that point you don’t need a gaming console and need to reprioritize things

And again, you're missing the point. I don't have to.
ETA: You're basically making the "don't have any credit cards" argument that people make because of idiots who don't pay off their balances.

If that. Arguing that "pulling your credit" is some big deal that's going to ruin your credit is ridiculous.

You sure about that, you don’t even know if you will get 0% and didn’t even know what they look for.
Regardless if you will be fine, telling others this is a good idea is bad financial advice
So stop telling people it’s good advice

Imagine comparing a legit credit card for big ticket item purchases to financing a $299 or $499 game console

You are better off buying it with your credit card and paying it right off. Get your points or rewards and that’s it.

Assuming one is buying game pass, it's cheaper to finance the xbox than it is to buy it outright and pay for game pass separately.
