No exporting draft classes
then why pair the MVP edition with both CFB25 and M25?

overall, i'm a bit peeved. i was still expecting gameplay.

Guess we are waiting another two weeks for that. The closer the release gets with no gameplay, the more irritated i get. It’s 48 days until the early release and we have nothing

But but but all of those cinematic stadium walkouts! Who needs gameplay?

To be fair, this info isn’t coming from EA, it’s coming from journalists who traveled to experience it in person and they weren’t allowed to take any photos or videos. Everything I’ve heard/read so far about the gameplay has been very positive though.
As for exporting draft classes, that does suck but the nil deal for real players only extends to this game, not to Madden so it makes sense.
You can export your RTG player though so there’s that.

So apparently recruits that you miss out on in your initial go around will be more receptive to you if they enter the portal and may even reach out to you. Really curious to see how that feature plays out.

this reads like they chose the madden coach hiring and skill tree systems over the coaching carousel from ncaa games and I’ll be really bummed if true

Yep, we ain't gonna be seeing actual gameplay until it's EA showing it I suspect. Although there's some smoke online that something could come from EA tomorrow. We'll see.
Pretty much everything I've read so far has said this plays much differently than Madden (in a good way).
Owen Good Write-Up
quote:
For starters, players are getting a great spread of playbooks exemplary of collegiate football’s experimental approach to the game. The classic triple-option is joined by modern exponents such as Wake Forest’s long (or slow) run-pass option mesh, in addition to the usual spread-the-field, fire-drill nonsense.
All of this is supported by a gameplay engine that is smarter at contextualizing running behavior, allowing users quicker moves and cutbacks against blocking without triggering special moves on a face button or the right stick. Contextual running behavior — “getting skinny” when passing through the middle of the line-of-scrimmage battle, for example — is mainly applied to forward movement. Lateral motion, such as jukes and spins, are still on the user to execute to fake a tackler and continue on their way.
The best example I can give of this, I accidentally called a reverse pitch in one of my first three plays and was astonished to see an 8 yard gain out of a mistake play. Slow-to-develop plays, particularly behind the line of scrimmage, have long been a weakness in player-vs-CPU games like Madden NFL, which shares a core gameplay engine with College Football 25. But here, my split end had the ball before I even knew what was going on, much less the AI defense, and I still gaffed North Carolina for a 15-yard run by outrunning the coverage and picking a straight lane once I came around end. Go State!
That leads me to a second point: Madden NFL players are very familiar with the gratuitous stumble play, whereby someone is hit from the side, and his momentum stops, he stumbles into a long and unrecoverable animation, and while ostensibly still on his feet and capable of recovering, he’s slowed enough that someone else from the defense comes in to finish the job easily, as if he should have been tackled at the point where he was hit.
It’s not necessarily the case in College Football 25. If you want to take a runner out of the play, you have to hit him square, because recoveries and continuation from anything other than a full wrap-up tackle are now much more viable under the new engine they have running — and much more of which will be revealed when we get to Madden NFL 25 later. But for the version of football that lends itself to the option run, this is going to become very important.

Coaching carousel is in it just not like it was before.
Ratings are apparently vastly more spread out. Some players down in the 30s. Similar to The Show with how far ratings are spread out.

No neutral site non-conference games kinda stinks. I think I'll have about 8-12 a dynasty with my buddies with about 4 per conference. Tell everyone you have to 1 non conference game that's apart of a home and home and then I'd throw on a couple random neutral site games as well.

I’ve always felt the way hiring and coach skills are done in madden franchise since the overhaul were a shortfall so hopefully it’s been improved

Apparently if you don’t study hard enough you can get academic probation and have to go to tutors, imagine having your season derailed because you flunked too many tests

Interested to see how true this is and how much this impedes building up smaller programs.

The gameplay WILL be Madden. I knew it would. I told yall this.
Just wanted to pop back in and say that everyone who has actually played the game is saying the complete opposite of what Gritz was arguing for the past 40 pages…

Yeah they are saying the grind to improve a small program is a lot harder than it was when we left off. That ratings spread is huge.
New kicking mechanic sounds good, just hope it isn’t TOO challenging.

quote:No NIL in the dynasty mode only road to glory
Transfer portal and NIL are in the game are a deep part of dynasty.
quote:
There is not NIL in Dynasty mode, and they have a pretty good reason for that. When developing the game, NIL was done by the collectives and wasn’t (legally) something coaches and the schools controlled. Beyond that, given how quickly things have changed with NIL, they didn’t want to put something in the game that was outdated as quickly as it was built – that point got enforced when the NCAA settlement to allow schools to pay players came down a few hours after our presentation.

As of now, “Enter Sandman” is not in the game (Metallica songs are very expensive) — sorry Virginia Tech fans — but EA Sports did note to UPROXX that this is not an exhaustive list and there was a chance for more songs to be added.

God forbid they would have to put out an update to change a detail or two regarding NIL…let’s just take it out of dynasty instead
