Who knows it wouldn't let me select anything in the create a player menu until I reset the controller and even then it straight went to a black screen in a cutscene. Powering this thing down until Tuesday because it is useless.

Got my XB1 today, a day late from Amazon, and though it's not making such violent noises as the XB1s in the videos, it's not reading any discs and also not playing any sound.
So pissed.

What did you do? I'm chatting with Amazon right now seeing if they'll send a replacement that I could hopefully have by Monday.

I got with Microsoft and they are sending me a replacement Xbox One by Tuesday. I use the box they send the replacement in to send the busted one back. Amazon has something similar but I talked with them last night and they don't have any in stock to replace.

That's what MS better do for me. I saw some very early people having issues and MS was making them wait for the boxes, then repairing the XB1. I want a new one immediately. Hopefully they changed their stance once they realized they were edging towards a revolt.

Wait. Mine just read Assassin's Creed and is installing now.
Going to cancel the install and try the other games now to make sure it's working.
I had it standing up on the side which I know read is not what it's designed for. That's dumb, but hopefully that's what my problem was.

Seems like that was my problem. 
Forza is installing now. I'm hoping it should be done before the end of the LSU game.

You would have been better served to read the first page where it's specifically says Do NOT stand vertically
