I view the 500 extra health points as extremely diminishing because though it's huge boost at level one it seems it won't be much of a difference after a few levels. Since I'll be playing on hard difficulty where meditation doesn't restore health I'll get the sun and stars skill which regens health during day

sounds good. kinda wish that's what I'd done.

That's some good advice right there

I'm glad I didn't upgrade last night because that's definitely what I'll be going with first.

Yeah otherwise you'll spend way too much on food or pots

Yeah I just went with Medium so I don't get stuck on something for ages. Almost picked easy, but I'd rather not feel like I'm just going through the motions. Fortunately, it appears you can change your difficulty at will.

Anyone know if you can replay it on nightmare with upgrades or anything like that? I know some games have replay options like that.

Just read on Reddit that for those playing on PS4, holding down the sensor button opens the inventory menu and swiping up on the sensor button opens the map.
Not sure if already known by all or some but still thought I'd share since I wasn't aware.

devil in the well quest is a pain in the arse if you don't find the clues in the right order. Realized I missed some cut-scenes after watching a how to video because I found the clues in the wrong order.

Remember to dodge, but don’t be timid – the game rewards aggressive play with adrenaline, which increases damage.
glad I saw these
sbr2 should add that link or just copy and paste the tips to the OP

After 9 hours or so with the game, it is head and shoulders above DA:I or any other recent open world game. The game looks and runs amazing on PC and the combat is much better than I expected.

Somebody pull up this screenshot on their 4K monitor/TV and see how good it looks: LINK
Performance report for my OC'd SLI 980s with vsync enabled:
1440P, completely maxed out, plus Hairworks-- consistent 60 fps
4K, completely maxed out, plus Hairworks-- 40-50 fps
4K, completely maxed out, no Hairworks-- 50-60 fps
EDIT: Also...
This is why I hardly ever try to tackle games like this, let alone finish them. I foresee a lot of Alt-Tabbing in my future.

I'm tired of all these high resolution screenshots, I can't see any of them

Yea, there will be lots of help searches
One question I have is why is it so damn windy? There was one point that trees in the background were about parallel to the ground the wind was blowing so hard, yet it was perfectly sunny

Picked it up on my lunch break and finished the tutorial and a little bit of the first quest (basically am still in the inn). I'm already getting the feeling that this game is going to be epic, but I'm worried for some reason about missing things.
Lets hope not.

My theory on why it's windy is because of the hair physics. It's something that's very difficult to get right, the weight of individual locks of hair, blades of grass, leaves, etc. I notice it in the hair physics mods for skyrim, as well as the TressFX AMD developed. Even without the Hairworks effects, there's still some hair/grass physics; though not refined, the hair is just a tad unnaturally flowy/bouncy/springy, which would be really noticeable in running, galloping, etc. So, the wind keeps it flowing and gives it resistance to other erratic movements, and makes it look cool all the time.

Why would you sell that shite? I'd looks badass. I'd find a way to make it stronger
