It is completely fricking retarded that crafting an iron dagger gives you the same amount of smithing xp as crafting a daedric warhammer.
Posted on 11/17/11 at 8:06 am to fouldeliverer
It is, but that's not going to stop me from taking advantage of it to max my smithing..

I just feel cheap doing it

I need to get a dagger that captures souls or at least learn how to enchant one. I haven't messed with enchanting at all really.
ETA Just found something interesting reading the Guide, which makes the smithing iron dagger exploit even more puzzling. It says "Disenchanting helps increase your Enchanting Skill, and your skill increases faster when you disenchant a high-value item than when you disenchant a lower-value one. So if they thought of this for enchanting, how come not smithing?

Ok...so i lost a dragon last night. Well, i lost its dead body before absorbing its soul and looting him. The mission assigned dragon south of Ivarstead landed on the mountain south of me while we were fighting. I guess there was something up there that was appealing to him.
Anyway, whatever it was got the cripple and death shot in on my GD dragon.
I spent 12-1 AM attempting to find this damn corpse, but could never find my way to that part of the mountain.
Anyone think the body will still be there when I load up today?

I lost one the other night. I was north of some city, the dragon kept flying off burning some bandit camp and giants and all kind of stuff, I got tired of chasing it.
Also I had defeated a dragon in Riverwood or something I went back later and the dragon bones were up right and the dragon looked like it was dancing in mid air.

Bring a horse.. It'll help you climb the mountain to find it's corpse which should still be yhere

That's how I ended the night. Trying to ride one up the mountain. Then I got snuck by another dragon and 2 dremora overlords. Where the hell THEY came from, considering I'm on a mountaintop, I have no idea. Spent the next 15 minutes fighting them. My Khajit brother and I survived. My stolen horse...not so lucky.
Had to save and sleep.

I hope you're right.

Almost lost one last night. East of the Shrine of Azura (near winterhold). I was stuck in a ravine between 2 mountains, and he wouldn't land. So I decide to climb one of the mountains and see if I could fight it on top of one, which I could. Open spot on top of the mountain, and he would land.
Another epic battle, and the dragon goes down....but starts to slide down the face of the mountain. I figured the wonky physics from that sort of slide would slingshot him across the world, so I ran up to him to search him, just barely getting there before he went completely over. Grabbed the items I wanted, and off he went. Thankfully the dragon soul animation activated and I got his soul.

whats the quickest way to level up archery? i sneak around and shoot shite a lot but doesn't seem to level as quick as 1h weapon or destro spells. Is there one of those master stone thingies for the boost to archery?

the guardian stone for the warrior boosts archery 20% and the Lover boosts all skills by 15%

Well, you can grind like you're doing now. I'm at 62 doing it that way. There are plenty of enemies to shoot at any level.
Or you can exploit a bug in dragonsreach to level it as quickly as you want.

You can only pay to level up 5 times per character level. And it gets very expensive.

Well, my save file is up to 11MB now. I can play for approx 20 min before the frame rate basically becomes a slide show. So i guess I'm done with Skyrim until the patch comes out. And if the patch doesn't fix the problem I'll likely be trading in the PS3 for a 360. FML

Anyone that does light armor, use the perk that makes light armor weigh nothing and doesn't slow you down. REALLY helps your sneak and it applies (or appears to) to armor in your pack as well. I load UP on some loot. I've been sneak walking damn near EVERYWHERE but its slowed way down now.
