The Dark Brotherhood has a hit out on me.

I have a question about leveling and such. I know that the leveling is a little different than Oblivion, but I'm not 100% sure on how it works. So far I'm at about level 14 and focusing mostly on combat skills. If I spend the next while pimping out non combat skills (enchanting, speech, smithing) will I end up putting myself in a hole?

What did you do? That is my favorite of the guilds. I can't wait to get started on those quests.

na. you should be fine. they didn't want this game to be like Oblivion where you become weak as hell if you dont only level up combat stats. lots of the creatures stay the same level throughout the game

Dunno, got attacked on the road by an assassin and he had a note on him that someone took a contract out on me.

I have also been attacked by an assassin with that note. I hope it's not awkward when I go to join up.

I had that too but it said the Battle Borne family took it out on me. I haven't "addressed" the issue with them yet. I noticed one of you said to sell the daggers from smithing one at a time. If I sell them all at once will that cause inflation?

each item you sell gives you a chance at a speachcraft skill up

Totally didn't think of that. Thanks.

Is there a good place to come across random weak enemies? I've got some soul gems to fill.

The way the game scales probably not at a low level, I don't quite understand the scaling system, but I can tell it's nowhere near as bad a oblivion where everything scaled to your level.

My current conundrum... should I go to bed at a decent hour for the first time since Thursday? Or should I go visit this Oblivion-related museum at Dawnstar?

All my ingredients and recipies are in Whiterun in the satchel on the apothecary table. I'll get to all that eventually...

This game is great!
I am working on the thieves guild quests, I have a feeling work will suck tomorrow!

I'm aching to get to the Thieve's Guild but I'm holding off. I kind of want to buff up on my sneak and get me some decent sneaking armor. I'm still hammering away at my smithing. Only got to 60 so far. Everyone keeps running out of iron and steel.

Fast travel cities. Find 2-3 that have close smiths and you'll be good. They'll restock when you go back. I had 4 cities I used.
