I got married, but I can't find my wife.

NM I had to wait a bit in the temple and she appeared.

This game is pretty daunting. Reading through these threads I have no idea what you guys are talking about.
I started out as the regular dude and am just rolling with sword and shield trying to do some quests.
How do you level up mostly? Just fighting random people on the roads or what? And I've only seen that main dragon in the beginning. Did see a giant get merked by some assassin people. Seems like there's sooooooooo much to do idk where to start

Leveling up skills, when you get enough skill points you get to choose a perk. You can use any combination of skill up to level up. i.e., sneak, lock picking, heavy armor, spechcraft, one handed.

The menus are confusing as hell too. There's like some constellation menu too

You'll level up naturally just by playing the game. My advice to you would be to not really stress about anything right now, but just relax and enjoy the free roaming nature of the game. Do whatever you want. You'll learn as you play, and then you can start getting more in-depth with it. Have fun!

The constellation menu is just a nifty way of choosing your skill perks when you level.

So have any of you spent more time thieving and stealing from people, ransacking houses, murder of village folk etc?
I want to pick this game up so bad but I know if I do, school will suffer.

There are enough things trying to kill me, no need to add angry townsfolk and guards

You can level up really quickly by smithing a bunch of iron daggers if you can get some iron and some leather

Agreed.
So you haven't tried it at all? I guess I'll be in the minority causing havoc for the town folk.

I saw that video. That's the first thing I'm going to do. Sounds like a great glitch.

So just a heads up for shits and giggles.. after you take a dragon's soul and its just a flopping skeleton.. its very fun to blast around the town with your fireballs.. that thing FLYS.

I wish I had fraps to show this.. I just blasted it from winterhold almost to the top of that mountain where the other dragon's lair is with a dual cast firebolt..
ETA: currently moving all of the dragon's corpses to my home to spice it up.
