That's crazy that the game was ported to pc yet the graphics are much better on pc. Normally when you see a port the graphics get worse.
LINK
Based on that link you should be running on low to medium settings. That probably explains the problems you were having at first

The developers have much more to work with on PC as far as hardware goes, so it's only smart to make the graphics better as an incentive.

I just assumed they developed on pc because the 360 version had framerate and texture issues, yet the pc version runs fine. I don't see how a game could be developed for a console and then have framerate issues on that console

There are numerous bugs and glitches present on the PC that just aren't there for consoles. At any rate, code for the 360 and PC have some similarities and I tend to think of them as interchangeable. The only difference is scaling graphics ability instead of fixed.

Yeah it was definitely a console first (xbox primary) game.. The great thing about pc is the active community of modders and bug fixers though.

Exactly, the PC community lives for that shite. I don't pick up most of the major mods but the minor ones for Oblivion make for a great experience.

This is why consoles are absolutely necessary. A lot of people cant select proper settings that their system can handle or buy prebuilt computers that cut corners with subpar components.
Plus there can be software conflicts with other programs on the computer.

Yeah. At this point consoles are basically 4 year old gaming computers. Its amazing that they are so optimized for gaming that they can play games like skyrim

I still want to know more about this moving of objects thing.. is there a gravity gun - telekinsis - force type effect in game that I can move an object around instead of just picking it up and hopefully dropping it in the place i want..
Posted on 11/14/11 at 4:33 pm to Jumbeauxlaya
If you hold the button that picks up objects you can move them around by dragging

Indeed, having the same capabilities for such an extended period allows for optimization I guess.
So I'm a Redguard who uses one-handed blades w/ destruction and restoration and I named him Jericho. I know one of my friends name his guy Captain Crapper or something retarded but what about you guys?

I was UN-imaginative and named my character Hawke.. since I played DA:O as a woman mage and had already made this character into a breton woman..

Jericho sounds like he is lacking in the defense department.
Shane is a tank that can sustain damage from 5 enemies at a time due to his heavy armor and shield. The Axe of Whiterun is strong enough to take down most bandits in 2 or 3 swings.
I'm not rushing anything as far as quests go. Just taking my time and role playing a bit. I think im building a rep as the guy that either beats up or cock blocks the local bard/musician in whatever pub I'm sitting in

It's true, Jericho does get the crap beaten out of him on a regular basis but with that setup I can do some serious damage.

I have it tuned in somewhere between medium and high. I had to drop the resolution down to get decent view distances.

For sure. There's already a bunch a fixes out there.

Even if it did look a little worse than the console version, it would be worth it for the mods.
Which one of you guys is in the editor building tiger stadium right now? Or maybe a gaming board quest?

Is anyone else playing with an imperial like I am?

Daegon the wood elf is a beast with bow and dagger. He only uses light armor and would get owned in a one on one fight, that is if you could see him.
He's as quiet as a shadow and if you see his face, that means you are already dead.

I am. Pretty balanced class. Strong warriors, with more personality than an Orc

quote:damn. We're running pretty much the same build then. Cause I've got heavy armor, a shield, and a 1H axe
