Sometimes it slows time for a long fricking time and I can kill them before time speeds back up

Yep, had this happen to me yesterday. I killed 2 people before it went right again.

any of you guys tried mining? I got the pickaxe but have yet to find any nodes.. level 9 and trying to raise some funds.

What 1H weapon you using? I have used most of my perk points on 1H Axes and Heavy Armor. I just annihilate things. I have a shield with 30% fire resistance that helps with dragon fights.
Even without perk points my beginner heal spell is normally enough to help me survive. Every now and then I have to use some potions though. I wish I could get more perk points because I wanna max out speech craft, heavy armor, one handed weapons, blocking, archery, sneaking, alchemy, and smithing

Mines show up on the compass. You don't have to level up ur mining so you don't have to start out with iron and work ur way to the good shite.

Using a Dwarven sword right now, it gets the job done nicely. I've spread my perks out somewhat evenly thus far between Heavy Armor, One handed weapons (specialty in swords), and blocking. I also have some points in archery and smithing.

I've come across a few nodes, but they can be hard to spot. I don't see mining being a huge money maker, but maybe I just haven't found the good spots yet. I find the best way to make money is just to loot as much as you can possibly carry and sell it all whenever you head back in town.

There are designated mines on the map, but there are also random ore veins scattered around the map that I've come across. Be aware that there are certain things you can't mine, like to get the dwarven ingots you have to enter dwemer ruins and grab metal from there and smelt it.

i used this theory in fallout but it doesn't seem to be working just yet in skyrim. I guess its because i haven't bought a house yet so im forced to carry a bunch of heavy armor and weapons around that i'm not currently using which really limits my carrying capacity. seems like i'm always at like 295/305lbs.

Yeah, you need a place to store your stuff and getting a house helps a lot. I'd make that a priority.

Killing dragons is the easiest way to make money I've found. I killed 2 in river wood pretty much back to back. Those bones and scales sell for so much. Also killing wizards always seems to net some cash selling their 450 value robes and 900 value staff

I usually start out by picking up anything worth at least 50g that has a ratio of at least 10g/lb. As I get farther along, I start to get better loot, so those requirements slowly increase. After I finish a dungeon run or two, I try to sell all of the weapons and armor to a blacksmith and everything else to a general goods store. I always sell all of the heavy stuff, but if vendors run out of money, I'll store everything else, then after many runs, I grab all the stuff I stored (except the stuff I want to keep in storage which is stored separately), and fast travel around selling as much as I can at each stop. This process is extremely profitable. I'm never hurting for money. If you really want to make a ton of money, though, alchemy at higher levels paid extremely well in Oblivion. It probably does in Skyrim, too.

Picked this up yesterday and wound up playing from 9 till 1 am. I was so engrossed it seemed like I had only been playing for 30 minutes. If I hadn't gotten a text right then I would've never known the time and kept playing.

Bethesda has us all by the balls on this one. I didn't really like oblivion but I will be forced to buy all the DLC that comes out for Skyrim. The game is just too good

quote:Yeah I was going to sell my dragon shite, but then I realized you can make badass armor out of em, so I'm gonna hang onto those for a while. Smithing iron daggers is an extremely easy way to level up quickly and get pretty good armor. I've got the full set of dwarven armor with the shield and 1h axe and I'm tearing shite up now. Eta: I'm level 12 or so.

I agree. They stated that they want to put out substantial DLC and not just cash-grabs so we'll probably see more stuff like Shivering Isles. I want at least one sweet house DLC though.

The dragon armor doesn't look very cool to me and it's armor rating isn't as high as daedric. If ur using heavy or medium armor u might as well sell it

That's good to know then. I hadn't looked into it all that much.

The DLC for Elder Scrolls has always been top notch long lasting content. Not just one more quest like some games.
