Did it actually say the load times were that good on PC. IGN review was PC specific.

Odd cause the IGN review I saw mentioned slower load times on the console as a problem and mentioned that they preferred the console controls.
I wonder if they took down the review I read.
Maybe I am getting review sites mixed up.
I think one of the 12 hour marathons just started. Fighting the urge to watch it.

And I remember EQ load zones
Doesn't mean I enjoyed them then or now.
Recap: I can get a PC load time only on a PC, and I can get an X-box controller hooked up to it as well.
No brainer.

The load times on PC for Oblivion were ridiculously shorter than console versions, I expect the same for Skyrim.

My computer is on the line of being able to run it well.
Main thing holding me back is CPU

I see. Sadly I won't be starting off on high settings, having to use my old video card right now. Power supply lost some power and won't run my newer card, so I'm having to wait for my new power supply to come in.

Looks like my old USB wireless receiver for Xbox controllers might be getting some use. I could tell n the 20 minute video the interface looked catered to controllers

I'm sure everything will be fine, but the PS3 meltdown stuff on the Bethesda boards is starting to have me worried

Lag times on old ps3's?
ETA: I hate how the official 1.1 patch Says General optimization to performance and stability. They can't be more specific

I do have the fat ps3, but I bought it probably 2 months before the slim came out.

Well if you had a 360 then you would have texture problems if you install so its not as if either console is going to be running smoothly it appears. Trying not to let it dampen my enthusiasm.
