This game is too easy for me right now lol
Now I really do wish I was on the PC instead of 360 because I am sure someone is working on a difficulty mod as we sit and type.
I have stopped using my heavy armor and mace and switched to light armor and bow. That has somewhat increased difficulty. I'm doing this while I run through the thieves quests.

What are the pros/cons to being a stormcloack or member of the imperials?
No real effect on the game afterward, I went stormcloaks on my main, but I created a console toon and pimped them out and did the imperial quest.

For those of you saying it's too easy, I'm on normal difficulty and it is VERY challenging and I'm level 27. I know I don't suck at the game, so such snark is unwarranted... but I wonder if there's something off about the difficulty settings?

This isn't a new problem although they thought they fixed it with scaled level monsters based on your level in Oblivion. BUT people hated the scaled leveling which meant the game was just as hard after hour 100 as it was in hour 1.
The fix for Skyrim appears to be just to go back to allowing full god mode.
I still think they need a patch to set a max health regeneration and max magic resistance. Those two things right there make the game a cakewalk with no limits.
I haven't played mage but I know there are people with mage outfits that keep them from ever running out of majicka no matter what spells they cast.
Console users will just have to deal with it but PC users will eventually get a real Master Difficulty mod.

How'd you do it? I need to get my speechcraft higher
The bartender in the Black Briar Meadery can be exploited for infinite speechcraft. You ask him what he thinks of Maven Black Briar then the next menu gives you a chance to persuade him. If your speech is already around 25 or so the persuade should work. You can do this as long as you want. In about 30 minutes I went from 25 to 100. I just put a movie on my computer and mindlessly tapped the button.

I wouldn't be able to bring myself to do this. But I am level 47 and have sold and bought a ton of shite and am only in the 60s for speech. It is way too hard to level it.

I have leveled 1h and 2h and now working on my bow, I switched back to 1st person and am liking it a lot, but it seems like I move so slow compared to 3rd person.

I stopped sneaking and am just dual-wielding with light armor.

Thanks, I've been hoarding a ton of useless crap at my house until I could get my speech up higher to make more money off of it.

It's made leveling smithing and enchanting so much easier as I can now buy things for cheaper and sell them for more. Also I got the perk so that every merchant has 1000 more gold so I don't have to hop to 5 different merchants after each dungeon run to sell everything off.

WTH, I'm trying to take this unusual gem to the appraiser but he refuses to talk to me, I have no idea why, I'm not sure I've ever interacted with him before now. I have 4 of these things that I can't remove from my inventory

I find it challenging from time to time, even though I have full dragon armor I still die in some areas. My spells aren't strong enough to keep up with the mobs; I guess that's because I gained something like 20 levels just from smithing/enchanting

Chick in the thieves guild will tell you about them, you need all 24 to complete the quest.

Is there anybody that can give you hints about where those unusual gems are located? I'd like to finish the thieves guild and those things are scattered all over the frickin place.
Posted on 11/27/11 at 5:11 pm to CornDogCologne
They are a side quest and not needed to complete the thieves guild main quest.

I thought they were necessary to "restore the guild to it's former glory".
I've done the other crap, I just want to be made guild master without searching for a needle in a haystack all across skyrim. It'd be nice if there was an npc that could drop hints on gem locations.

Do you have to have all in your possession, I think I accidentally sold my Malag Bol mace.
Posted on 11/27/11 at 6:12 pm to fouldeliverer
Yes I do. I mostly sell to my wife and she seems to keep named items you sell her forever in here "for sale" list.
