No, you start with nothing but a bandage, a flashlight, and some painkillers I think. You should prolly watch some of the videos in the OP. Use the mouse wheel to scroll over stuff when it gives you the green firearm symbol over gear, select gear, then click the arrow to the right to add it to your inventory

I finally found a gun. Winchester 1866 I think. Was it as hard for me you guys to find one? I had to crawl for 1000 yards just so zombies wouldn't get to me.
