I haven't done a gym because they are too far and I'm not walking on the Hwy to get to one

why do you think the gym stuff is bad?

the more you dodge, the more energy you get

the more energy you get, the more special attacks (holding down on your pokemon) you can do.

obviously each pokemon have different animations so learning their battle techniques makes it fun

There are also a couple of Squirtles nearby that I wouldn't mind tracking down.

I really want a Blastoise. I have yet to see a Squirtle besides the one I started off with. Not one.

Does this really need an answer?

You do nothing but tap, dodge side/side and hold for special attack. There is no picking move sets and strategy involved. Really just CPlvl vs type.

It's fckking terrible.

Edt: they also hold no real incentive. I'm not going to one just for it to be taken over again without getting the coin bonus. I'll just stop by the Pokestops.

Here, ill simulate it for you

Pikachu used electrocute
Bublasaur used Grass Seed

Pikachu has feinted!

Cp level means hardly anything lol. and picking movesets is critical for success. You are being silly

the lack of incentives, I agree.

they had to make it quick fighting due to the nature of the game and to appeal to the masses that didnt play the GB versions of turn based fighting. I agree it isnt the best.

There are a couple of gyms on my commute that were all held by Valor until this morning.

All 4 are now owned by a Mystic 1400 Gyarados .

Dude had to farm the shite out of some Magicarp .

Pokestops don't give you lucky eggs, lures, or item/pokemon capacity upgrades. All of that is valuable. I plan to not spend a dime of my own money on this game, but I definitely want to upgrade my bag and be able to get some more lures. 10 coins a day per gym is not a bad way of going about it. Plus you get to show off your pokemon and have bragging rights.

For 2 secs?

The game makes you a slave owner not a trainer. You catch and tap to fight, there is 0 training involved.

Not even the ability to choose your special attack. The gyms need to be reworked, they are a fckking dumpster fire.

Its not great but I don't think its terrible.

if you are good at fighting then you will do better, and generate more prestige and xp. if you suck, you will lose in round 1 and get nothing.

its the first iteration. it can only get better.

plus it lets you show off your dank pokemon to the surrounding community if you earn a spot on the gym starting lineup

I love turn base for pokemon, it works for the concept of training. But no I don't on a mobile phone platform.

Just want more from gyms and more out of you then simple tapping.

You should be able to train your Pokemon, you are a trainer btw.

One of the main issues.

You can't even play bad, too simple and easy. There is no room to grow or improve except lvling CP for HP.

It's garbage. I know its the first shot and that's fine, but fckk is it silly.

Listen I'm not stupid, completely understand why it is set up that way.

It just should have more, gyms should be a continuous end game that you shoot towards. You don't have that here, every gym you can just roll up and over take in a few minutes.

Also it shouldn't be turn bases, I agree. But what should be in there is training your Pokemon by at less picking a special power when powering up or evolving.

they need to fix servers before adding any kind of complicated sequence

I think they disabled , or severely nerfed, the "place caught" gps screen that was stored on every single pokemon

now it just shows a giant circle around baton rouge... and not a zoomed in circle like before

good idea because I don't need to see the exact gps location of where that cp12 pidgey , 1 of 300, came from

someone on reddit mentioned that when you defeat a gym, just leave it white. don't bother "claiming it"

so you can retake it over and over for xp.

I wish they would bring the transfer button above that caught location image.

I thought about this. Was next to 3 gyms for lunch. Place wasn't that populated but loaded with churches. So if someone did come I had 2 other options to use.
