So I caught this Tauros today walking around. cp is low right now....but I guess I should keep him, right?
I'd definitely keep him just for the fact that he's 100%. Not sure how rare a 100% Tauros is, but it seems 100% pokemon in general are very rare. I could see really rare Pokemon, ones that are hard to find with 100% IV, become collector's items or hold good value for trading. For an analogy, 100% IV could be similar to "mint condition" for baseball trading cards.

Well damn...so if the range is massive, how would I know what it really is?

Refining Results
There can be many possible IV's that would produce the Pokemon you have. You are able to narrow down the Pokemon by leveling it up OR evolving it, and submitting the new details to this tool
After your first search, a new "Refine" button will appear. Power-up the Pokemon once OR evolve it, observe its new CP HP and Dust Prices, enter the new details, then click "Refine".
The "Refine" process will automatically identify if you evolved the mon (species changed) or if you powered it up. But only one at a time. Don't attempt to evolve and powerup between submissions, or powerup multiple times between submissions. The tool assumes you're taking it one step at a time.
Some Pokemon can have their IV's identified immediately, other will require up to 5 Power-Ups to know exactly which IV set it has. Regardless, you should know within 0-1 powerups if it's "close to perfect".

Damn, that would have saved me a bunch of candies

Chalk it up to the cost of learning.

What does the powered tab mean on the iv calculator?

If you have used stardust and candy to power up the pokemon, select "yes." If you haven't powered up the pokemon yet, select "no."

Thanks. And the stardust tab is how much it takes to power him up I assume?

I went on an evolving spree today and used my lucky egg. Went up two levels. I also evolved a few things that gave me new stuff. I tried the name trick on my Eevee again and it worked. That is 2 for 2! I only need two more Eevee for one final evolve and hopefully I get the only one I am missing, the Jolteon.
New stuff I got today from evolves:
Beedrill
Flareon
Poliwhirl
Butterfree
Gloom
I also have a Cubone in my Pokedex and I have NO CLUE where I got it. The only thing I can figure is an egg hatched while I was not looking? Not that I don't want it but it is a mystery where it came from. lol I thought I must have gotten it before and forgotten but it is showing up as one of my most recent ones.
I wish the journals would log eggs that hatch and evolutions as well. If you have multiple eggs hatching and they are different distances then you really don't know which is which.
Speaking of eggs, I had a 2 Km egg hatch on my walk just now and it gave me a Pidgey.
I haven't put every single Pokemon into the IV calculator but the best I have found was a 92% Venonat that evolved into a 94% Venomoth. Will definitely hold on to that one even though it isn't rare to have that particular Pokemon.

The best I e seem so far is ponyta @ 91.1%. A handful over 80 or slightly better.
For the most part the high cp egg hatches come out to be really good and an occasional high CP wildling.
Also, I catch way too many evees. 102 to be exact. I like being able to evolve them a lot but I need more diversity. 7 of the 11 1k+ Pokemon are eveelutions... Vileplume Starmie eggsecutor and pinsir are my only other 1k+ guys. I have a few that will be 1500+ once I finally evolve them but I barely see those in the wild. Then I feel like 1500 won't be shite by the time I can evolve them ha
ETA: my little 126 magicarp says 97.8% but holy shite the candy

I have a 556 91% Eevee and 456 94% Eevee I am waiting on a mass evolve before I evolve them.

Make sure and favorite it so you don't get transfer happy.

My highest magikarp is only an 87 but I am going to Destin next week so hopefully I can get one near 200. And I only have 64 candies so.

Oh, I will be going to Navarre in September. Didn't think about finding new stuff. Bring it on.
Posted on 7/28/16 at 9:19 pm to BigB0882
Just used my first of two eggs and got from lvl 9 to lvl 13 with mass evolves. Will be curious if I see anything different when I am out tomorrow from the level difference.
Posted on 7/28/16 at 9:25 pm to TigerFanatic99
I really didn't notice a difference in different Pokemon showing up until I hit level 20 the other day. Sure, I was getting higher-cp Pokes as I leveled up, but it was the same 10 Pokes.
Now I'm getting all kinds of stuff popping up, stuff I wouldn't normally associate as being found in the desert. Ghosts, Grass-based pokes, Hitmons (2 more today making 4 in the last two days)...
