I love me some games that have gotten negative scores.
I was speaking more to the content of the review, not just the score.
I agree. I watched the reviews from IGN and generally ignore the score. I feel comfortable with their analysis to do that. i just think it's funny because 7/10 should be a good score but it considered horrible.

I'm a little disappointed after watching the Knack reviews.
Gametrailers just ripped it apart.
From the videos I watched they were spot on. Nothing stood out.

I'm excited for it. The main selling point is its different.
Not worth $60 and I've said that a few times. Not a game that's gonna get great reviews.

The PlayStation App is now available on Android and iOS.
Also, you can download the day 1 patch now, need a 1gb flash drive.

I see. I generally ignore reviews but these posts have made me starting reading a few. Yep, I'll go back to ignoring reviews. If Knack is getting torn apart like this for some questionable reasoning, I can't imagine what'll happen when they review some games that'll be broken or just awful.
(also think that a bias towards smaller, indie games is starting to show. Not saying those games aren't bad, but they're not leaps ahead of the blockbuster titles)

PS4's audio chip includes the TrueAudio technology that AMD has in its new GPUs.
quote:
What is TrueAudio?
In a nutshell, TrueAudio is a return to the concept of hardware accelerated audio processing, with AMD leveraging their position to put the necessary hardware on the GPU. Hardware accelerated audio processing in the PC space essentially died with Windows Vista, which moved most of the Windows audio stack into software. Previously the stack was significantly implemented through drivers and as such various elements could be offloaded onto the sound card itself, which in the case of 3D audio meant having the audio card process and transform DirectSound 3D calls as it saw fit. However with Vista hardware processing and hardware access to those APIs was stripped, and combined with a general “good enough” mindset of software audio + Realtek audio codecs, the matter was essentially given up on.
Now even with the loss of traditional hardware acceleration due to Vista, you can still do advanced 3D audio and other effects in software by having the game engine itself do the work. However this is generally not something that’s done, as game developers are hesitant to allocate valuable CPU time to audio and other effects that are difficult to demonstrate and sell. Further complicating this is of course the current generation consoles, which dedicate a relatively small portion of what are already pretty limited resources to audio processing. As a result the baseline for audio is at times an 8 year old console, or at best a conservative fraction of one CPU core.

After watching the gameplay videos of knack, it really does seem to be rather boring. At least IMO.

Reviews in general aren't apples to apples and that's the big problem. Angry birds is a great handheld game but if you give it a 90(random number) then give last of us a 90(nbfshouldbe100) then it implies they are comparable but they really aren't. Thats why I listen to them for specific information.

Couple reports of early shipments being DOA.
Kinda glad I may not get one for a few weeks and 2nd batch.

PixelVolt Knack review is in, 8/10. LINK
Pretty much exactly what I had hoped.

On the fence? Knack is a very easy recommendation for anyone who enjoys the action/adventure genre and serves as a very solid launch title for your new console. It’s an extremely challenging game based on a novel concept that carries it through about a 10 hour campaign, and if you’re able to manage your expectations and accept Knack for what it is, you’ll see it may just be what you’re looking for.

I'm taking advantage of Target's buy 2 get 1 free deal, and I am going to go the route of the $10 upgrade for BF4. Currently I only have NBA 2K14 as the other game to get..
I like sports games and FPS games.. Not really wanting to buy FIFA as I won't play it much because them damn Europeans rape online in it. What are some recommendations? I don't think i'll pick up any other FPS other than BF4 simply because Battlefield takes up plenty of my time. I am thinking Need For Speed Rivals will be one of the games since Driveclub won't be out in full. Is there an absolute day 1 launch list out there?

How much time do we think we can actually play on Friday night? I'm guessing between downloading the PS4 firmware patch and then all of Battlefield 4 as well as any patches for that mother, I'll probably get to play -3 hours of video games.

I'm not sure. I have an honor guard detail at 0800 Saturday morning, so I may just not play BF4 at all Friday night and then just download BF4 while im on my detail

I can't wait until you get to see what BF4 is supposed to look like.

Your first match will be played with your mouth open.

Do you really not have a flash drive? It's available to download right now.
