no I did and it was fun, but I had no clue it was that highly reviewed...it's kind of funny

apparently I must have not given GTA IV a fair shake. I got really bored with it and thought it was too serious and super repetitive.

Anyone notified that their Switch has shipped? My pro controller and BotW have shipped but nothing yet from my console order from GameStop.

in b4 people flip out about friend codes while ignoring its one of multiple ways to connect to people.

Has already been discussed. Multiple ways, sure, but if you have a friend you know you want to add, it's either be in the same room, let's play an online game together first, or give me that damn code. If you're given a unique user name why can't you just use that?

In the grand scheme of things, no, not that big of a headache, but why go that route? Typing in a user name has been an established means for this for such a long time. Why keep it around?

Also, we are planning it so that friends from social networking services will be listed as candidates, too.

In the future, you will be able to send a friend request to friends associated with your NNID (Wii U/Miiverse) and Nintendo 3DS.

We’ve asked if that means that at some point Friend Codes will be completely done away with, and also what the timing is on these new ways to make Switch friends. The rep said they were looking into it and would let us know what they find out.

Seriously, can someone explain why they just can't stop using it altogether?

I got a friend request from someone via friend code and it offers no details beyond their (non-unique) nickname and icon. Seems kinda bad?

You can't send a message along with the friend request?

Doesn't seem like there's any messaging.

I called up Nintendo to ask and got Reggie on the line. He simply whispered "sicboy" and then hung up.

I love how you fanboys will slurp up nintendo's "uniqueness", but it's possibly to be unique and NOT sacrifice basic functionality.

I'm not slurping anything, just laughing at how pissy people get over things that arent a big deal.

Dr RC seems to be just laughing at how far out of proportion the criticism gets.

For me my letdown is no Bluetooth

Slight disappointments but no big deal at all are virtual console, video streaming, web app and email.

I don't want to connect with people online so I don't care and Nintendo really seems to be emphasizing local multiplayer over online multiplayer, no?

Thin launch lineup? Every console ever has them. I'm not saying it's not a great reason to wait, it is a really good reason. This isn't entirely geared towards the serious dedicated gamers.

Again, my stance, and the general consensus I'm reading, is Switch is meh.......right now, but Zelda is an out of this world game.

Color me surprised you have only bashed it in every single switch thread that has been started for the last month.

That's fine. Sounds reasonable to me. It doesn't bother me one bit, but I guess some others think you're pissing in their cheerios just to do it or overreacting to trivial things but I'm bad at interpreting others really bad

If they can improve functionality in some areas and get some features up and running, it would be a solid device. I'm not interested in portable gaming at all, so none of that registers for me.

But ignore this post and pretend it's GOAT. Shocker, discussion boards are meant for discussion.

The full potential is a tablet like any other but it happens to be a Nintendo take a nice slice of several different segments and dominate the overlaps

Nintendo is kind of hard to read. The core appeal is the "switch" that seems to be the one thing it does great. A jack of all trades and master of one
