Cloud9 with a 3-0 sweep of TSM to win the NA Gauntlet and final seed.

Be interesting to see how much TSM blows it up, bot lane has definitely gotta go, neither player worth an import slot.

I am guessing Bjerg and Hauntzer stay.

Riot inks massive sponsorship deal with Mastercard.

quote:

Riot Games and Mastercard are preparing to announce a major global sponsorship centered around League of Legends (LoL) esports, sources said, with one calling it the “biggest deal Riot has ever done.” Few details are known, but Mastercard will first appear as a sponsor at the LoL World Championships set for Oct. 1-Nov. 3 in South Korea.

Well both NA teams got the best possible draw. RIP Vitality.

The play-ins determine the 4th team for each group.

Must be some kind of play-in for last spot.
A: AF, FW
B: Rng, GenG
C: KT, TL
D: IG, FNC

Also means C9 can only get in Group A or Group B, so stick a fork in that team.

They made quarters last time.
It's not decided yet.

They aren't beating out Flash Wolves/Afreeca and sure as hell not RNG/GEN.G.

I’d give c9 more of a chance to make it out of A than B. Afreeca struggled in the Summer split and they can be beaten. It also depends on what FW team shows up.

I'm not convinced Liquid is in a great draw. Especially if they get EDG/G2 as their 3 seed.

It's not the best but not the worst either. MAD is probably one of the weakest teams in the tourney.

If the expected teams make it out of the playins, I'd hope for G2. All of the Korean and Chinese teams will probably make it out of groups.

If prior groups have been any indication, having one of these teams isn't great if you aren't the frontrunner in your group. Having a free win for all 3 other teams just turns it into basically a head to head for the last spot. I really don't see anyone in that group beating KT, and I don't see MAD taking more than a single game. With the high chance that the 3 seed is either G2 or EDG, idk how I feel about Liquid's chances. If they had performed better at RR, I might be a bit more confident.

I feel quite good regardless of the 4th seed. Prefer G2 just for how bad they ended the split and are getting destroyed in scrims, but EDG is very beatable as well.

Definitely the easiest draw of the groups as everyone says, getting KT who won't drop a game is a good thing, and getting the second weakest overall team is also a good thing.

Can't ask for much more.

C9 vs Kabum kicks off Worlds in 20 minutes.

Make sure to watch on lolesports.com if you want to earn rewards for watching.

C9 1-0 Kabum!

C9 somehow beats DFM after getting stomped. Good thing those regions throw C9 looked like total arse.
