RNG Uzi is going to take a break from competitive play and will be replaced by interim bot laner Able. The leave shouldn't last that long but the article doesn't specify, just that it's short term.

Said his doctor advised the break because of an injury to his shoulder by practicing with bad posture for an extreme amount of time.

Hell if I haven't played in a while I feel myself holding my wrist after a few hours of playing much less 12 hours a day every day.

Right as RNG is destroying everyone and the top team in the world. Unlucky, could throw them off too.

So I watched most of Travis Gafford's interviews with EU players and all pretty much echo the same sentiment.

TL is really good and was really good in scrims, everyone else was terrible.

Jankos says NA solo queue is just unbelievably bad, and that NA players have terrible mechanics. Says the 60 ping is unplayable and probably has at least a little to do with that.

Jankos part about NA

Jankos is a cool dude, and he apparently loooves LA. Time to bring him over next.

Perkz

Here is Perkz talking about how bad NA solo Q is and how one tricks and streamers playing for fun combined with 60 ping is terrible for NA and definitely part of why mechanics are so bad in the region.

60 ping

I really don't have a clue how ping works, so pardon my ignorance here: How do I have 38-40 ping at my house and these pros play on 60?

Rekkles talks NA

Rekkles does give some hope for another NA team.

Who is Travis anyway? He seems to be very active in doing interviews and stuff. Is he just some dude who took interest in the media side of the game?

I didn’t watch LCS before season 6 so I don’t know really much about him.

Travis was a reporter/contributor for Yahoo esports until Yahoo esports was axed.

Now he does his own reporting

Server is in Chicago, so LA gets about 60 ping. It used to be in I think Seattle prior to about 2 seasons ago, so LA would get ~30.

LCK players play on single digit ping, and EU is about the same.

He was on the scene very early on.
DL stayed at his house when his family kicked him out for wanting to play video games instead of going to college.
So, he's always had an "in" with one of the best/most popular players in NA.

The signal has to go from your computer, to the server. So the travel time is how responsive the game is versus when you enter the command.

It's noticeable when you have really bad ping spikes. Like 200/400+.
You'll enter a command to last hit a minion. And it'll fire way too late.
Or you'll try to walk back under turret or flash away, and it takes waaayyyy too long.

So, things like input buffering, high skill champs, competing against Pros. Ping really matters.

ETA: I was really happy when mine went from 90 to 60. I felt like Faker.
But when it goes back to 90 for a game or two for whatever reason, it feels like I have ankle weights on.
Compare that to single digit ping players. Going from 8 to 60 is like watching a movie where your little brother is pausing it every few seconds.

Right. I know how ping changes game play, I just didnt know why I get a much better ping in south Louisiana than someone would in Las Angeles where most of the pros play.

He's right. I quit for this very reason.
I don't have the time to play enough to keep up with allllllll of the changes.

I can barely even watch pro play anymore.

This was really well put together. The random images popping up were funny. Like Qtpie popping up when he says casual players.

Can't disagree with anything he says honestly.

We're aiming to have a nerf to mid/jungle gold funneling in 8.14. It's an issue we've been looking at for a little while now, given it creates lanes without much interaction and putting two income streams on one champion produces a range of balance issues.

That temporary solution is heavily reduced gold from lane minions if you have a T1 or T2 jungle item and have the most gold on your team.

We're targeting gold on the champ being funneled to here because that's where the biggest discrepancy lies, with that champ having around 50% more gold at the 15 minute mark than the opposing mid laner.

I honestly don't know how else they COULD fix this, but this really sucks for good junglers, especially in lower elo.

At least they are doing something about it?

Everyone ripped on Splyce all of RR and they beat Fnatic today.

And G2 loses to Misfits.
