marksmen are being "looked at"
quote:
We're reducing the late-game burst that crit marksmen deal to squishy targets via the Infinity Edge update, which will rework the +50% crit damage passive to one that converts a portion of crit damage to true damage. This focuses crit build effectiveness more squarely on tanky targets—a few crits on a low-defense target will still be highly impactful, but it’s less likely they'll get two- or three-shotted.
This is probably going to be a big game-changer. So many things are balanced around ADCs killing squishies in 2 seconds.

I've really never been a fan of crit build marksman with Rapid Fire Cannon just being able to take a couple steps up after it's charged and chunking you for half health.

Why does Riot still allow fricking plats and golds to be placed against silvers and bronze players?
shite makes zero sense.

The matchmaking with riot is really bad. I don’t understand why they can’t make the match making like Clash was. How difficult can that really be?

I played a norm this morning with all unranked/silvers as plat 5.
Someone told me that they use normal match history to determine match making, not your solo q/flex rank. Kind of like a separate MMR. I don't know how accurate that is, just what I was told.
My usual group that I run normals with is a Gold 3, Silver 3, Silver 4 and a bronze 1. So if the theory is correct, I'm not surprised I get placed with silvers.
I also have games where there are a few plats sprinkled in as well. It's very weird. I can't tell you the last time I was placed in all 10 players were close to me like a ranked queue though.

Any word on when the next event is going to be? I missed the first one and looking forward to getting on a team and seeing how it is.

I've heard this for years and it's the dumbest way to model matchmaking. If you are Plat, you're plat, period.
The argument in favor of this model is "Well what if you are Diamond level only because you play one role?". Then you are capable of playing other roles at that level.
You can obviously tell these types of players because I/we have won against teams like that handily. But then you get games where the much more highly ranked players are playing their mains and it's a shite show.
If you're plat, you're plat. If you're diamond, you're diamond. No reason for Riot to reason that you should be playing against people 3-4 tiers below you.
Yes I'm salty.

I totally get where you're coming from.
A high ranked try hard player playing mains coming into norms against low ranked players is a new pet peeve of mine.
Getting fed off the lower ranked, bming with the mastery 7 emote. Always a good time. I usually throw in a "didn't know diamonds played their mains in norms" in all chat and 9/10 times I don't get a response.

Had this happen to me last night. I’m playing Veigar for the 3rd time ever and I get a try hard yas and plank in each game.

Had a diamond 5 on my team today.
Like what do Riot employees do all day?

I would take that as a compliment, Riot thinks you are worthy of a Diamond challenge.

Feels even better when you pull the victory out for your team.

When you say this do you mean a diamond 5 loading boarder or an active in diamond account?
Posted on 5/7/18 at 6:28 pm to UltimateHog
The one on my team was active I believe.
It's usually a mixture of both.
I can understand if it happens every once in a while, but it seems like it's every other game.
I play norms to either relax or learn a new champ. In either case, it's retarded to have a plat or diamond playing one of their mains and try harding against a bunch of bronze-low gold.

Really interested to see his kit. Like seeing that kind of dark lore/vibe in a new champion.

Pretty good early showing for NA as TL was even with Kingzone at 30 minutes before they ended any hope.
Fnatic loses to RNG.

It's pretty funny, I turned it on right at the 30 min mark you reference and thought "Wow, look at this. TL giving KZ all they want." Being only down 2-3k gold at that time.
Then TL even got a pick on someone, can't remember who it was (Bdd on Karma maybe?), as well as almost killed Peanuts Olaf, but still managed to not really do anything. The next time KZ had all 5 up it seemed like they were done messing around and absolutely stomped them.
Pray's Ezreal was damn strong that game.

I also thought I heard that it was the first time Doublelift was killed on Jhin in the post season. That's pretty wild if I heard correctly.
I had forgotten how good he was on that champ in the NALCS playoffs.
